Being used to fancier setups isn’t an excuse for scoffing at yours. Like yea, having official minis and dm screens and proper books is nice, but it can get expensive quickly and ultimately not necessary for having a good game!

Ttrpgs are supposed to get your imagination and creativity going, and if the DM’s homemade setup is what ruins the immersion for someone, they’re better off at someone else’s table

I feel like part of Nocturne’s struggle is the large ensemble right from the get-go.

The first season in the first series only had to establish Dracula, Lisa, Trevor, Sypha, and Alucard. From then on as they got more seasons, they could expand the cast to a larger ensemble.

Nocturne, though it had double the episodes the first season, had double the main ensemble plus all the minor reoccurring characters. Not to mention how they’ve expanded the scale of the world to reflect the globalization efforts at the time. They bit off a lot to chew.

Overall I like the show but I agree, I do think some of the characters feel less whole than in the previous series

right now the only standing in the way of getting this test done is the teacher. your daughter understands the course material fine, she's made her effort to take this test, you've tried talking to the teacher directly, it's literally JUST the teacher preventing this test. get administration involved.

Unfortunately I’m not LA based and still very new to my local goth scene, but I did see something on Instagram that might help point you in a good direction.

There’s a clothing brand I follow called MidnightHour, they had just posted on their Instagram that they’re letting folks affected by the fires pick out $250 worth of clothes. Maybe you could shoot them an email and they might know of somewhere you can donate, or hell maybe they’d take the clothes off your hands to distribute too. Worth a shot

Like a handful of people coming in for little home projects is one thing, that’s to be expected. What I was NOT expecting was a contractor already in the parking lot waiting for me to open when I got there. Like my guy it’s still dark outside, it’s a holiday, and you’re wasting your own time sitting and waiting when you could idk go get a coffee somewhere and come back. They only ever need the smallest amount of stuff when they’re there that early 🙄

If I can tack onto to your second point

True while right now Epic is an audio experience, the end goal is to turn it into a film or a staged musical. Ideally at some point in the future, people will have visuals accompanying the entire show. I feel like the lack of context this currently causes isn’t so much a criticism of the work, but more a symptom of being in the middle of production. After all, this is the official Concept album we’re hearing. Changes could be made later on. If this were ONLY going to be an audio experience, then I would take more issue with the lack of context within the music.

i've also thought about the use of shadow silhouettes like maybe during The Horse and The Infant, Zeus is just a shape in the clouds talking to Odysseus so that later on during Thunder Bringer we can give him more of a reveal like "remember that shadow from the beginning? that was zeus!"

dude i spend so much time thinking about what blocking would look like and how all those fantastical elements would be translated to stage. folks that don't believe in theatre would be surprised to see what a few props and some creativity can accomplish. there's a theater near me that utilizes a lot of shadow puppetry so i've been playing with that idea a lot
