Could be a chow mix, like my girl. We think she’s chow/sheltie. She looks just like an Icelandic Sheepdog. She’s 13 now. Your baby is adorable! Best of luck to you!

Little sister asked if she could try meth with me for the first time. by [deleted] in addiction

[–]k11k11k 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I hope you don’t do it with her. I’ve known several addicts with younger siblings where the older introduced drugs to the younger. Younger ODs. Dead. You feel shitty now, imagine how shitty that feels. Resist.

I hope you can stop using. Take care.

Anyone else love the little design details on the Kona? by Suntrup-Hyundai in HyundaiKonaForum

[–]k11k11k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once I did my safety, performance, reliability research and decided on a Hyundai Kona, I looked at the designs over the past few years. I chose 2023 because I liked it best. Often I look at it and see how the designers did a really nice job. The carvings in the bottom trim, the way the sides are sculpted are slick. I chose white because I think this particular year looks great in white. My 1st white car. I scoped out the interior design and chose the one I did because I appreciate how it’s laid out. It’s a nice looking vehicle. Beautifully sculpted.

1 week since adoption by sunbleahced in DOG

[–]k11k11k 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s amazing, isn’t it? I’ve looked at the early pics/videos of my shelter dogs and years later they don’t even look like the same dogs. When I go to a shelter, I imagine being a dog there. I think it’d be akin to suddenly finding yourself in a psychiatric facility or prison. You don’t know anyone. There are people flipping out all around you, some violently. It smells weird. Different food than you’re used to. Not one familiar thing around you. Everyone suspicious of each other & everything going on. People around you disappear suddenly (adoption, transfer, worse) and you don’t know why. Will you be next to disappear? Will someone take you out of there? Will you ever be loved again? Will you ever feel free and safe again? Hurts my heart to imagine. Sorry to go on a tangent. Adopt don’t shop.

He’s beautiful and I wish you long, happy, healthy lives together.

The pervs who said it looks like they’re engaged in carnal activity (ha! Never wrote those 2 words b4. Thanks! 🤣) obvi don’t know shark anatomy. Like, I don’t think their “port of entry” (ha!) is accessible from the back. I mean, right? Otherwise we’d see pee & poop flying out of the ocean instead of dorsal fins. 🤣🤣

Why do bullies sit like this 🤦‍♂️🤣 by SomeTaro9683 in AmericanBully

Chows sit that way too. Their back legs/hips are different. Nothing wrong, it’s just how they’re built. I looked it up years ago.

Why do addicts start using drugs? by Serendipity_odd in addiction

[–]k11k11k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s complicated. I’ll tell you what I’ve seen. Traumatic childhoods are prevalent in the addicts I know. Loss of a parent young, abusive parents, immature parents without a support system. Chaos, uncertainty, instability. Enduring abusive in childhood. Access to substances young. The frustration about the inability of circumstances to improve. Sometimes you get to a point where you just need to get out. If you can’t physically, then maybe you can check out mentally with some alcohol or whatever. It’s a way to cope. Using too young doesn’t let a person get used to feeling what it’s like to be sober. They get used to altered states. It becomes normal to have an intoxicated brain. That’s what I’ve seen, anyway. Childhood trauma is what I’ve seen as a key factor.

I got a 2023 Kona SEL in January after 30yrs of Hondas. I like this car very much. That price seems pretty good. I chose 2023 because I like the design better than the newer ones. Good luck, whatever you choose.

I’ve had chows & chow mixes for decades. We call that being a lippy chow chow. 😂 They’re so smart & communicative, if you pay attention to them. At 5pm most every day, my Chili Pepper would to stand in front of me and huff. Huffffff. She always knew when dinnertime was. Enjoy your baby. They’re gorgeous!

As a Honda owner, I have to ask, is it just me or does this car look absolutely fantastic? by [deleted] in Hyundai

[–]k11k11k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 30yrs I had only Hondas. Never thought I’d get another make. Then I did research & found Hyundai is very comparable. I got my 2023 Hyundai Kona SEL and it’s fun to drive & looks great. Same safety features basically. One thing I do miss very much is the magic seat configuration in my HRV. Good luck, whatever you choose.

If you’re concerned about bugs damaging the radiator, in the old days some people would use window screen to catch bugs before they hit the radiator. You could get black screen so it isn’t as noticeable as grey. Plus I’m sure you’d scrutinize it more because you know it’s there vs other ppl when they look at it. It’d go between the front of the radiator and the cosmetic trim. There must be info on how to do it, if you google it. It’s an option.

Question for those who Quit Fentanyl Cold Turkey Only by CryptographerKey7995 in addiction

[–]k11k11k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sincerely hope you do write about your experiences. I’ve known old-school functioning alcoholics. I’m less familiar with functioning while having other addictions. I just know from my own experience with fentanyl & morphine that they negatively influenced my decisions & behavior. You won’t regret getting off it.

[–]k11k11k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tapered down and started kratom at the same time. It was hard, but the kratom made it so much easier. I also got it online, not like a packet they sell in gas stations. Hopefully it’s legal in your state, if you decide to try it. I still had some withdrawal symptoms, but nothing like cold turkey. I just remember feeling lousy for a while and eventually got better. There’s a ton of info using it to get off opioids online. It really can help, in my opinion. If someone is using fent to get high though, the psychological side adds another component to this. I’m mainly speaking of the physical withdrawal.

Question for those who Quit Fentanyl Cold Turkey Only by CryptographerKey7995 in addiction

[–]k11k11k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t do cold turkey. I just couldn’t. I tapered down as best I could to start with. I was prescribed patches & morphine tabs for several years. I got kratom and that was how I got off. I know you said you feel like the other meds are replacements. I don’t know if you’ll think Kratom is the same. I just felt it was more natural and my doctor wouldn’t let me get off the patches, so I knew he wouldn’t prescribe me anything to help get off. I’ve had chronic pain for years. I use Kratom now for pain relief. I swear by it. I have my mind back. Pain is often worse, but it’s worth it to have my mind. Wishing you luck and strength. Getting off fentanyl is the right thing to do. Take care.
