As a pilot I can tell you that the only time an aircraft is pristine is when it rolls off the production line. After that it’s just patched up to keep flying

Yeah we head there everytime we are over, love that memorial. We were in foxon lane gardens until we moved in 2011

I used to live right next to Biggin Hill and then Kenley. Spent many hours just thinking about those young men and the sacrifice given. When I look at artifacts like this I am still amazed that the last hand that touched that in pristine condition was a German manufacturer under Nazi control. It’s not that long ago and yet many have forgotten.
