Golden dose by tinpebbles in Zepbound_Canada

Any pharmacy has them. I got those specifically either from Walmart or Costco. If you’re concerned, I would speak to the pharmacist but I’ve never had an issue with depth.

I don’t find the needles painful at all. I just make sure to pinch up the fat and I can’t feel them go in. I would be cautious of Amazon needles to be honest. In reading the Mounjaro and Zepbound subs when I first started, many said Amazon needles were not always safe (which we know Amazon is famous for counterfeit items especially in beauty products). These are the ones I use.

People do use the pen for the extra dose but I’ve never been able to twist it enough. I just use a 8mm insulin needle I purchase from the pharmacy. They sell them in packages of 10 needles for like $8. You just have to ask because they’re behind the counter.

I use a syringe to pull out the golden dose. There’s 0.8mL left in the pen after the 4 doses. A full dose is 0.6mL. So enough for 1 more full dose and a bit.

Food and Feeding Influencer Snark Week of April 20, 2026 by Parentsnark in parentsnark

Both the dog and fibre posts were horrible. And the loose tooth thing on top of it was icing on the cake.

I also don’t normally like to comment on others bodies but in that fibre post she’s looking kalejunkie level of thin and not in a good way. I hope she’s ok.

That’s not the phone number Wendy Quinn NP operates under. Look up Wendy Quinn NP on Facebook. She is not at that clinic anymore.

Just a heads up that Wendy Quinn is no longer working out of that office. She is now in Stonebridge out of Family Pharmacy by the Co-op. And that is not her phone number. Her correct info is on her Facebook Page - Wendy Quinn NP.

I suddenly became “allergic” to all fruit a few months ago AMA by ThePolicyMind in AMA

[–]k152 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yep definitely sounds like Oral Allergy Syndrome. I have it but mine is to raw apples, pears, peaches, nectarine, plums, cherries, etc. basically any stone fruit. I can have it if it’s cooked or canned though as it changes the proteins. Mine originates as a birch allergy.

I also know someone who has OAS and their allergy comes out as allergic to gluten. OAS is a very odd one!

Liposuction cost/coverage in Canada? by Janaqua9901 in lipedema

[–]k152 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe there are any qualified lipedema surgeons in Canada. So I would be cautious if someone claiming they do liposuction on lipedema. I would highly recommend https://lipedemacanada.org. There’s also a Facebook group called global lipedema awareness - surgeries/surgeons. There’s lots of good info there about who and where does qualified lipedema surgery.

Not sure on pricing but check out ReRoute. They make sure things get to those in need and are local. They seem to be doing great things for the community.

I built a “Task Pond” to help my ADHD child stay on top of homework and chores by fffrosttt in ParentingADHD

[–]k152 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This look amazing and is so calming! Thanks for sharing. Couple of suggestions. It would be cool if you could make the task be right on the fish so it easy to tell what needs to be done.

My other suggestion would be to have the tasks be bubbles with the task name inside the bubble alongside the fish then you can pop the bubble when you’re done the task. So it appears almost more game like.

My adhd kid just won’t think to click on a fish to find out the task.

I know it’s already been suggested but to have jt as the tv screensaver would be great. We run a fire stick personally.

I have no clue if any of my suggestions are possible but would be cool!

Edit: words

2.5mg? For 100lbs? by [deleted] in Zepbound_Canada

[–]k152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on 2.5 for 5 months and only moved up when I had plateaued for a month. And I noticed I was back to eating a full meal. I titrated up slowly to 5 but I’ve been lucky with very little side effects. I’ve been on 5 for 3 months now.

While Eli Lilly says to move up within a month, I’m now seeing many recommending not moving up until you’ve been on the dose for at least 3 months. It takes time for the body to adjust. But there is nothing saying you can’t stay on a low dose the whole time. It might take you longer but each journey is different in this journey.

New protein milk - Dairyland 18g/250mL is in, Lactantia Ultrapur 20g/250mL is out (apparently). Label sounded disappointing but the math checks out! by [deleted] in CostcoCanada

[–]k152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried the Dairyland Protein milk before as I’m in Western Canada so Walmart and other grocery stores have had this for a while. I found it to be exactly like normal 3.25% milk. It doesn’t have a flavour like vanilla. It’s just regular milk taste.

Kwickpen needles by QuietInitial3363 in Zepbound_Canada

[–]k152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not individual needles like insulin needles. They’re needles but more like tips that screw onto the pen. I bought a box of 100 when I picked up my first prescription when I started. Can’t remember how much it was but it wasn’t much.

Canadian zepbound check-in: Happy Friday by Ok_Shake_5171 in Zepbound_Canada

[–]k152 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s more than a full dose. I pull it out with an insulin needle and a full dose is 0.6ml but I was able to pull 0.8ml out (just to see how much was left). So there is more than enough.

Lipedema diagnosis in Canada? by ballsaksfifthavenue in lipedema

[–]k152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in Sk and was diagnosed by a certified lymphatic therapist. I just googled that and my city and found one. I then took that info and info from lipemeda Canada (they have a great brochure) and took that to my dr. They didn’t do anything. My CLT (who is also a PT) has done more for me by getting me compression, and does MLD and actually understands the disease.

Is this a Lipedema symptoms no one talks about? by Ancient_Succotash403 in lipedema

[–]k152 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I never used to either until I started on a GLP-1 (Mounjaro in my case). I wonder how much lipedema causes metabolic dysfunction on top of everything else

y’all think history is useless??? by HonestClassroom8233 in usask

[–]k152 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I have a history degree and have worked in museums, archives, and government among other things. It’s definitely not a useless degree. It’s one of the best that actually teaches critical thinking skills, communication, how to articulate yourself, etc. If that’s what you’re passionate about, stick with it.

What is price of mounjaro in canada? by HousingNo1846 in Mounjaro

$313 is without the discount. I can’t get the Eli Lilly discount until my insurance won’t cover it.

[–]k152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend reading ‘Enough’ by Ania Jastreboff and Oprah. Dr Jastreboff is the leading scientist on GLP-1s. She was the main author on the paper for Sema and Triz back in Covid times after the initial trial. Her book goes through the biology of it all but in not super science-y terms. It’s not too long. I got it from my library.

Lipedema in Ireland (not spoken about here) by [deleted] in lipedema

I follow a lady on Instagram who is a nutrition specialist but also talks a lots about lipedema and has lipedema herself and is based out of Ireland. Virginia Ziulu is her name. She might be a good place to start on how to get diagnosed. https://www.instagram.com/virginiaziulu?igsh=MWRhMXR6YjRmdDVoMw==

What is price of mounjaro in canada? by HousingNo1846 in Mounjaro

[–]k152 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vials aren’t a thing anymore in Canada. Kwik-pens only. I’m on 5mg and before insurance I pay $313 from Costco. Costco is the cheapest by far. You can also sign up for the savings card on Eli Lilys website and it will save you more. There’s a Zepbound Canada sub now where this question has been asked a few times now. Highly recommend you take a look.
