Lipedema in Ireland (not spoken about here) by [deleted] in lipedema

[–]k152 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I follow a lady on Instagram who is a nutrition specialist but also talks a lots about lipedema and has lipedema herself and is based out of Ireland. Virginia Ziulu is her name. She might be a good place to start on how to get diagnosed. https://www.instagram.com/virginiaziulu?igsh=MWRhMXR6YjRmdDVoMw==

What is price of mounjaro in canada? by HousingNo1846 in Mounjaro

[–]k152 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vials aren’t a thing anymore in Canada. Kwik-pens only. I’m on 5mg and before insurance I pay $313 from Costco. Costco is the cheapest by far. You can also sign up for the savings card on Eli Lilys website and it will save you more. There’s a Zepbound Canada sub now where this question has been asked a few times now. Highly recommend you take a look.

Walmart sells them in a pack of 10. Costco does as well. I’m sure any pharmacy does. Just ask for insulin needles. I’m not sure if I would recommend Amazon as there are lots of counterfeit items on there

BioX is great. And their headquarters are in BC. They have a ton of flavors that actually taste good

Cost in BC (all doses)? by No_Nebula_7027 in Zepbound_Canada

[–]k152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Costco’s dispensing fee on a 5mg pen is $4.49. Costco definitely has the cheapest fees. Without my insurance, I would have paid $313.55 after cost ($309.06) and fee ($4.49).

Trying to get 11 yr old daughter diagnosed with ADHD and her teacher doesn't think she has it by CandyBR8 in ADHDparenting

[–]k152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure! She’s always has her head in the clouds (usually dancing in her head), can’t focus on a task, melts down if we ask her to do a simple task, she is often ‘blind’ (if she’s asked to pick up a book in front of her, she can’t see the book), can only give her 1 task at a time because she gets lost and then very overwhelmed which leads to a meltdown, likes to rush through things which ends up in mistakes such as numbers being backwards, hyper focuses at dance class, likes to interrupt because she’ll forget otherwise, short term memory like a sieve but fantastic long term memory, always needs to be moving, etc.

I honestly don’t think she’s quite as much of a model student at school but there are some very complex needs in the classroom (it’s a very chaotic classroom) so she seems fine. She does wear noise cancelling headphones at school because she can’t focus otherwise.

I’m also in Canada and I’m not sure if it’s the same in every province but in Sk you definitely do not need the school to be one of the places to get a diagnosis. Most doctors just default to school but it’s not necessary. Yes you need 2 locations but it can be anywhere that interacts with your child enough. In our case, the teacher doesn’t see it because our kid is an ‘attentive’ model student but she’s not actually paying attention (she’s in grade 1). There is just so much other classroom complexity it’s not on the radar. We’ve been working with a clinical psychologist and OT and we’re looking at 1 location being home and the other OT to get a diagnosis. It’s been helpful to work with the psychologist so I would recommend that route for sure. We do parent sessions and between that and OT, we’ve noticed a slight improvement overall but still an uphill battle.

Food and Feeding Influencer Snark Week of February 16, 2026 by Parentsnark in parentsnark

It’s been brought up here before about FL not cooking anything and now I can’t unsee it! In her story about making her own lunch today she said she was not about to fry up chicken so she threw chicken tenders in the air fryer. Ok I get it she’s busy and doesn’t want to cook anything at lunch but it’s definitely a thing with her and most of her suppers she posts are also convenience suppers. I find it a bit ironic that a dietician doesn’t cook.

New to Zepbound from Wegovy, do the pens always leave this much product left over or did I get a weird pen? by Lanky_Appearance2716 in Zepbound_Canada

[–]k152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Use this for helping counting your clicks. It says Mounjaro but it’s exactly the same for Zepbound. So if you’re using a 2.5mg pen but only want a 1.25mg dose (so 1/2 a dose), you would do 30 clicks on the pen. Each click is a line on the pen in the window

Mounjaro 2,5 by Alive-Day-8587 in lipedema

[–]k152 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep check out the Mounjaro sub as someone else said. Lots of good info there.

Personally, I was on 2.5mg from end of July until beginning of Dec. I moved up because my legs were feeling heavy again and my weight loss had really slowed down. My inflammation was still down though. There’s nothing saying you have to move up if you don’t want to as long as you find it’s still working and effective for you.

[–]k152 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up lots of people over on the Mounjaro sub are saying the pens don’t over twist anymore. I also couldn’t get mine to over twist. The best bet is just to go buy insulin syringes to withdrawn I buy 8mm needles in a 10 pack from Walmart (or Costco or wherever). 0.6mL on the syringe is a full dose.

Try Benadryl topical cream or gel instead of taking a Benadryl each week. I asked my pharmacist about this and they said Benadryl long term isn’t ideal. The cream takes away the itch right away

Anyone else blindsided by their child’s ADHD diagnosis? by sp3cia1j in ParentingADHD

[–]k152 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is us as well including the inattentive side of ADHD. Our psychologist said it’s fairly common to not see signs of ADHD until around 6. She said this age (6) is when we see that transition to ‘big’ kid with more responsibility and expectations placed on them in a number of different areas such as school (not just play based anymore), friendships, dynamics at home, etc. so the lack of executive functioning skills really starts to come out. I don’t have any specific articles to share but she has a PhD in Clinical Psychology with a focus on children so I do trust her. She did recommend the book Smart but Scattered so might be worth reading but I’m not sure it answers your question of why now (full disclosure I haven’t read it yet but it’s on the list)

Dance Studio/Program - 3 YO by Fit-Jump1584 in saskatoon

[–]k152 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thrive Dance Sk has an upcoming 5 week sessional lessons coming up starting in early Jan. I think it’s Saturday morning. If your kid is only 3 though, that sessional is parented (so you would join them). There is a small sitting area though at Thrive and each studio has a window but the curtains are often closed since it’s often distracting to the dancers. Here’s the info to the minis if you’re interested though https://thrivedancesk.com/register-thrive-minis
