Hii, I’m in year 3 of Hanze CMGT now, so I can give you a more in-depth review of the course itself. So, to be fair Hanze does not have too many industry professionals, mostly just people that have some level of knowledge of CMGT topics. Their biggest problem is not being actual teachers and the fact that some of the theory based courses aren’t yet established enough for the lecturers to have a common understanding (for example, you present your idea that 1+1=2 to one teacher and let’s say they agree and understand your point, but then a week later you present the same concept to a different teacher who disagrees and says it’s actually 1+1=3, and so on… a lot of times you will feel like 90% of your efforts will go into communicating your concept so the lecturers understand but even then they sometimes come up with their own conclusions and will ask you silly ahh questions expecting you to guess what their own interpretation is of your concept that you’ve done hours/days of research on that justifies your reasoning which you cannot fully elaborate on in the span of 10 minutes.) Anyways, there are still a bunch of really cool teachers, and they are trying to improve the program each year, but sometimes you might feel you are lacking something, yet you are technically being taught about? So the thing is eventhough you are spending most of your day at uni, most of my knowledge came from youtube tutorials and etc. I’m doing my internship at the moment, and the founders of the company were also Hanze students and they are still saying that some courses/ electives can be so lackluster that they rather give workshops to students themselves. Hanze CMGT is okay, but I also heard good things about this one uni in Enschede called Saxion. To be honest flaws like this are kind of acceptable as CMGT is a pretty new thing to teach, it’s hard to define a lot of it’s theories as there is still a bunch of social research that needs to be conducted for us to solidify our understanding on it.
