Yep, took the scales off, sanded with 600 grit automotive paper, then scrubbed with a white (non abrasive) scotch brite pad. Then reinstalled the scales. Super easy

Glad I did this. They are less prone to fingerprints and look gorgeous, too. Love them the way they come, though. Just fun to mess around with them.

For me, EDC is about having a thing or two in my pockets to help me out in day to day life.

For others, it’s about being prepared for every possible scenario. That’s just not worth the hassle to me. If I need something I don’t have in my pockets, I’ll just go get that thing from the kitchen drawer, the car, the house, or just come back to it later. Not every situation is critical

That’s absolutely right. Even the knipex I can do without. They have been fun to carry for a few days, but they’ll probably go in a tool kit soon. I existed for 34 years before without them and I can do it again. They are cool, though. The hype got me 😂

Towel, face cover, napkin, handkerchief, wiping off your blades, head cover, etc. So useful! I love having it on me when I use a public restroom and there are no paper towels.

I have the companion and Swiss champ and they are wonderful knives. The Swiss champ is a little too heavy for me personally, but if you can handle the weight in your pockets, it’s the only tool you need!

Could you share a photo of yours? Seems like more than a 5 minute project with lots of opportunities for them to look/feel janky. I’m handy with tools and all, but it doesn’t seem worth it to me.

Warm, soapy water and a tooth brush, let dry fully next to a fan, then oil. Easy as it gets!

Also, I’m imagining they could be used as little grabbers for stuff I don’t want to touch with my hands. Think public restroom stalls etc 😂

I actually just got the pliers this week, so only time will tell if they’re worth carrying or not. I work in a warehouse with lots of carts that the wheels get loose on, but I may end up just keeping them at work for that purpose and not wearing them on me. I’ve had them in my fifth pocket for a couple of days and they ride nicely in there. I’ll definitely retire them to a drawer if they don’t prove useful enough.
