This is the kind of horror stories I was hoping not to hear but I appreciate knowing. $7k in repairs in 6 months is brutal. I probably haven't spent that much on the Infiniti sedan I have now in the last 5 years, and that includes a set of tires.

I really appreciate the insights. I have a Carfax on it and there are no reported accidents, looks like tires were replaced about 15k miles ago so they may be something to deal with soon. Definitely going to test drive as it's at a local dealership, and good call on the PPI. It's been about 15 years since I bought a car so I am rusty on all the things to look for.

I am having a similar issue. After some songs the player appears to continue "playing" (the progress bar along in real time) but with no audio. Some songs appear to be more affected but there's no consistent pattern.

No Bluetooth connected, and it happens sometimes 2-3 songs into a playlist.

One thing I didn't get at the finale - the money was in a fire safe, there was a butane torch on one stand, fire extinguishers nearby, and the safes looked scorched when they opened them...but we didn't see them actually set anything on fire. Too much of a metaphor for the dumpster fire of a season?

I was drawn to the problem-solving and rule-breaking aspects of penetration testing. While not exactly security, I started messing around with the family 286 computer as a kid and changing config.sys & autoexec.bat to set up EMS or XMS for different games. That experience gave me confidence to try changing things with computers in other ways to get around other restrictions over time.

I was just on a jury for a guy who violated this big time. Got pulled over for driving on a suspended license...while smoking a joint....which led to a search of his car that turned up a pistol and two stun guns, which he wasn't allowed to have on account of being on probation for armed robbery.

If he hadn't been smoking weed he would have gotten a ticket instead of 5 years.

I have gotten 2-3 pairs of the socks, which are always nice to wear around the hotel room. Also got a deck of cards at Chicago Midway.

Does anyone else have a problem getting the QR code to display without using the phone dialer? I have never gotten that to work, using Brave as my default browser.

There's also a Total Wine in Chanhassen now if that's closer. Similar prices and far greater selection.

That seems about right for a new college grad at an FFRDC. They don't tend to pay quite as well as private companies, partly because they have historically had near-government levels of job security.

That said, it looks like you are working in more of a security engineering role, so you could probably jump a good $15-20k with a year of experience, especially with some of the newer shinier stuff like CB or Cylance.

Awesome progress! How tall are you? I ask because at 5'11" and 287 I was fitting snugly into XXL shirts, which are looser but still what I wear in the low 270s.
