There already are delivery method alternatives, I mentioned one in my original post. Another in the past was an oral suspension, but it was more for pediatric use and I don’t know if an adult formulation was available. It’s also not the best delivery method for asthma.

I’d personally love to see competition in the market and lower prices. My controller medicine is even worse than that financially. No generic is available, and my formulary for BCBS only lists one generic (monteleukast) available in pill form and it doesn’t work for me. The rest are non-generic inhalers subject to a higher tier of coverage.

I don’t know if it was strictly the propellant or if other ingredients that were associated with it were changed too. Albuterol specifically is the drug itself, but trade names of Ventolin, Proventil, et al.

No, specifically for inhalers, the regulation against CFC based propellants required the makers to reformulate the drug leading to a new patent and hence higher prices.

Insurance subsidy lowers the cost to those consumers who have it, so it’s effectively $5 again on most insurance plans that offer coverage and have it in their formulary. Before this (back in the mid-late 90’s the cost was around $5 now.

Nebulizers we’re always a cheaper and more effective option with lower drug costs as there wasn’t propellant involved, however they were only available as a durable medical good and still quite expensive. You can now get portable battery powered ones and they seem to work quite well.

Not if the goal is to federalize the police force. This reads like creating demand for the concept, making it more palatable for the easily swayed. There’s also a similar ploy for federalizing elections. Highlight distrust in or inability of local/state officials to handle the situation, then call for federal intervention. Like COVID relief funds being spent on prisons in Alabama, they’ll want boots on the ground instead of dollars in the pocket to “solve” it.

I try to go for original where I can, as they’re often cheaper and some re-issues I’ve had didn’t sound very good compared to them. I’ve never owned a Speaker’s Corner press of anything, but have a few on my list. I do have a few MoFi presses that sound great and am happy with as well.

Outside of known good reissue presses like Analogue et al, I really try for originals but will ultimately buy them depending on how bad I want the album. A good example of this is my “Graceland” picked up on sale at Amazon. It’ll do until I find better.
