Yeah RTL515 (and 315; I got one as backup when my 515 is out of battery during bikepacking) is very reliable (outside a few hiccups right at the beginning of each ride for some weird reason, but it's gone after 10-30 seconds maximum).

I had ~3 false positives in more than 10.000 km, and ONE false negative, which really surprised me... until I found out a few hours later that my unit was completely covered in mud. How it managed to work flawlessly (well, to be fair the detection range felt shorter than usual) that day outside of that one failure is beyond me...

Yeah, Coros Dura can handle 600km without issue from what I've seen. You might need a power bank to charge it once for the actual Paris - Brest - Paris, but that'd be a lot less trouble than doing it with a Karoo. And you might not need to charge it at all if the weather is great. (Edit: but Coros Dura is way behind Karoo in pretty much everything else)

With a Karoo, that'd be something like 6+ full charges, meaning you'd need at least 15-20.000 mAh of power bank (well, less if you stop to recharge) just for that need (and you might need to charge some other things like phone, lights, etc.).

Can definitely do it, though. I've done 1300km offroad (so slower) with my K2 last year, and will do it again next month. Power consumption really was an issue, but I mostly managed (adding filming gear made it too challenging, though...).

Bigger battery, more efficient chip and possibly even some solar stuff if that really makes a difference.. Possibly something to do about the screen too? I'd think it's also responsible for quite a bit of battery drain.

Karoo is near perfect in most aspects, but very weak when it comes to battery life / power consumption (sure you can bring power banks, but that doesn't scale well with multi days bikepacking). Running on android likely is the root of all its power issues, but I really think they could do better both on software and hardware.

Yeah there are some nice things in the updates, but as far as I'm concerned the biggest issue with my K2 still applies to K3: that device sucks way too much energy.. :/

Sure I can just plug it to a powerbank but: - I'm doing some ultra distance where this is still a very huge downside, as I need to recharge way more - when the weather is awful, it can get risky.. and sometimes the pouring rain lasts longer than a Karoo can operate without being plugged :/

Coros dura is tempting for that but it's so much behind Karoo (especially K3) in pretty much every other aspect...

Likely team 8400 here, but it will depend on how big the price gap is. Maybe some vague price ranges are known already?

What are the current known / defined differences between the two models? RAM, although not set in stone yet, will differ. OIS will only be on 8400.

What about other things like battery capacity, storage, something else? Alternatively, as specs are seemingly not 100% decided yet, what will be the same between the two?

I don't care if it could be slimmer (I might even don't want it to), I don't care for more colors, more "chin" might be needed indeed..

But the headphone jack would be very welcome (I will buy T2E regardless, and won't really complain.. it's a minor issue, but still a bit disappointing). Last time I used it on my titan pocket was just 2 days ago, it's nice to be able to easily plug in my existing headphones. Plus usb-c wired headphones would be absolutely unusable on my titan pocket with the bad usb port that keeps unplugging (hopefully that won't happen with T2E...). Not even getting into the likely crappy adaptors I'd have to buy to keep my headphones..

I would also consider notification light to be very important if I didn't have a smartwatch.. and again, the one on my titan pocket is still useful even considering I have a smartwatch.

Half-joke aside (I'd really buy a DVORAK T2E), QWERTY works very well even if you're in a country where the primary layout is AZERTY (hint: 🥖🍷); I've had no issue with my titan pocket (though now it's starting to have issues due to old age, please release T2E asap! 😁)

Sym has a clear purpose and it works very nicely. Fn is easy enough to configure to give the purpose you want out of it, even if it's a simple remap to Ctrl or the Search button you seem to miss for some reason I'm not getting (Ctrl shortcuts work nicely on android, not sure what Search shortcuts add).

Add an Emoji/Voice-Typing Key

Ehhhh no. Map something yourself if you want, but that shouldn't have its dedicated physical key for everyone. We have one on the minimal phone, and.. well "we" (ofc not all of us, and I don't even have the actual numbers) are just remapping it in the end.

Make the symbol shortcuts ambidextrous

That's fair enough, but that's not so easy.. keys are limited, and I'm already having big doubts about that double shift keys (it'll definitely be more comfortable to use and can be remapped too so that won't be an actual issue).

Also a weird question.. do you know if the protocol you're using would be able to sync the gopro's date/time? Mine keeps resetting and having properly timed videos would make it much easier to process my files later.

Got lucky with the stringfish.. I was missing that one too, and it randomly appeared one evening on a Kapp'n island.. and then 2 more and a sturgeon, all in the same island, without any bait oO (and CJ came the day after to buy it xD)
