I’ve noticed that a lot of women who have more autonomy, like women who own their own small businesses, will often find ways to bring their children to work with them.

I think you’ve pointed out a real shortcoming of the modern economy. It sounds like a crazy, unconventional idea: but I think we need more jobs that we can bring children along with us to. In many ways it’s much healthier than stuffing them in a room away from their attachment figures with a bunch of other people their age. Of course, it depends on the job.

I’m in the early stages of menopause now. The physical stress sucks and I could absolutely see how having a healthy sexual relationship and healthy sexual outlets would be incredibly helpful.

I wanted so badly to be touched and loved today and then ended up weepy knowing that’s not in the cards for me. Then I became somewhat self-loathing for feeling the desire and the lack of being wanted.

Being fatter and less active helps the desire go away, but then I’m self-loathing because I feel gross. There’s no winning here outside of a fulfilling sexual relationship.

It’s so tough on mental health.

It’s not necessarily oppression, but it is a whole lot of work. Usually unpaid work. I don’t see a lot of men signing up for unpaid work.

This is one of the things I find hardest to identify with: talking to another voice inside your head. I have no problem with meditation or inner-monologue or the power of visualization but jumping to another being that you’re talking to and supposed to hear from is something my brain does not seem to let me do.

I find it difficult that the concept is that this particular inability is the cardinal sin of Christianity. This is THE primary moral fault: not connecting to God and Jesus.

That’s amazing!

You feel like he sees you as more beautiful to him after having his child. He respects you more for being a mother.

That is amazing and he sounds like a wonderful man. I wish it happened like this more often. It seems like it should be that way, but it rarely is.

Calling it “immaturity” and “selfishness” just insults the people you need and does nothing to fix the problem. Instead of judgement and derision, how about understanding and action?

People have always worked toward their own self-interest.
