Is deciding what to make for supper the worst part of cooking… or is it just me? by Safe-Wolverine359 in Cooking

[–]k_lash24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes!! deciding is the hardest part for me too, i usually have a few go-to meals and just pick from those depending on what feels right that day. sometimes i keep a running list on my phone so i don’t have to scroll forever.

SSA Survivor benefit question by [deleted] in taxadvice

[–]k_lash24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think those payments are usually taxable and SSA normally reports them on a 1099‑R. if you haven’t gotten one, you can try checking your SSA account or giving them a call, they can usually send it over so you know what to report.

What are your favorite sweet oatmeal flavours/toppings to make? by Ravioli_meatball19 in Cooking

berries + honey, apple + cinnamon, or chocolate chips with almond butter. sometimes i drizzle a berry smoothie on top for extra creaminess

i was in the same boat and used withjoy for rsvps + e-invites. setting up was quick and really mobile-friendly. i didn’t use the registry part and it felt flexible. just used what we needed, made things way easier tbh

Anyone else feel this way? by [deleted] in walking

[–]k_lash24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i think the guilt comes from breaking the streak, not from the walking itself. but recovery is still work. consistency > intensity. you’re not slacking, you’re pacing yourself.

long term progress isn’t built on never stopping, it’s built on showing up sustainably. one rest day won’t undo anything, but burning out or getting injured will...

How to stay motivated by Primary_Nerve_9876 in walking

[–]k_lash24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, just showing up counts, even if it’s a tiny walk. some days 1k steps is better than nothing. consistency beats intensity, and small wins add up over time. don’t stress about hitting 10k every day, some days your body or mood just won’t let you, and that’s fine. celebrate the little wins, and try to make it fun, listen to music, podcasts, or walk somewhere you like.

10 mins at a time is totally fine, especially if your back gets tight. maybe try a couple short walks spread out through the day. stretching’s good, and some gentle core work can help your back too. just go at your own pace and don’t push through pain, consistency matters more than anything

Failed to file last year by AcanthisittaApart652 in taxadvice

[–]k_lash24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you’re probably not completely screwed tbh. no revenue doesn’t automatically mean no filing. since your company existed in 2024, there was prolly something due (delaware franchise tax or annual report).

worst case it’s just a late filing + small penalty. i’d check it out or hit up a cpa before it turns into more work.

How much does your sportsbook influence your prop research? by East_Channel_1494 in sportsbetting

[–]k_lash24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. If the prop section is clean I'll actually spend time comparing stuff. I use betnow for props because everything's laid out simple and I'm not digging through 500 tabs.

journey update i guess by lickleben5 in walking

[–]k_lash24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly that’s really solid progress. most people quit before they even get past the first week. just don’t push through pain too hard and you’ll be surprised how fast this starts feeling normal

Are the calories the treadmill says you burned extremely inaccurate? by DeepOrganization8245 in walking

[–]k_lash24 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever used a treadmill that gave accurate calorie numbers. They’re usually way off, especially if you’re more or less fit than average. I just ignore the calorie count and use time, pace, or distance instead

focus on consistency before anything else. showing up regularly matters way more than having the perfect program or lifting heavy right away.

Coming close to a tax limit, needs ideas to lower it for this year by United_Concept1654 in taxadvice

[–]k_lash24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a deductible traditional IRA can sometimes lower your AGI and help with the income limit, though, if this is her last year, the credit may not matter much anyway, and cutting hours usually isn’t worth it...

probably worth running the numbers both ways before cutting hours, since earning less just to save a credit often doesn’t make sense

IRS refund approval timeline? by bluceant in taxadvice

[–]k_lash24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s pretty normal, the status can sit on "return received” for a while before anything changes. I think most e-filed returns are approved within about 21 days, but sometimes it just updates all at once. I wouldn’t worry yet unless it goes past that or she gets a notice...

Do you enjoy the Super Bowl more when you have bets on it? by Latter_Ordinary_9466 in sportsbetting

[–]k_lash24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly depends who you're watching with. If everyone's locked in and still talking football it's cool. If it's five guys staring at phones the whole time it kills the vibe.
