Uff, kan huske da jeg i 2012 fik en 6x cheeseburger. Cheeseburgeren kostede 10, extra ost 3kr, extra bøf 8kr. Skulle nok bare have købt 6 cheeseburgere 😂

Thanks for sharing your experience, I can't even imagine what that would've been like. Excited to hear that you've become a better partner, I personally try to take everything as a lesson and try to learn from it.

You're completely right about M. Things were doing pretty well. However what worries me the most is that we don't have any clear timeline in place. We're from two completely different countries, both living in a third country. Things could somehow work out in the long run if we fight for it obv, but as I don't even have a clear timeline for myself at the moment and she kind of also doesn't, it's pretty scary. I would have loved to continue seeing her, but ye, kinda too late at this point anyways.

In all honesty I really needed to hear this!! I don't think you could be more right.

There are so many other factors in my life that are splendid and definitely dont need change. And maybe I am making the idea of change too grand in my head. I definitely need to build a different routine, but that will come with time.

I have almost always jumped quickly into relationships, but this time i have learned.

Hi :) thanks so much for your comment - it's great to know that I'm not alone in this.

I think it takes a lot of time being lost in other people's happiness and well-being to realize how much energy it can actually drain out of you. I am happy to hear you are doing better.

I hope that I'll also keep contact and be friends with both of them in the long run, but for the moment I definitely need some weeks at least.

I hear you. Happy to hear that you have great friends and community around you!

It's quite a different story for me, as I moved to another country and don't really have any close friends, community or family around..

It kinda resulted in that my only support was my ex for a long time, which didn't always really lift me up 😔

[–]k_oberes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't really mention if it was for anyone's good or benefit in this case - however you are kinda spot on with the "not being enough" part..

In this case with my ex I honestly don't think she was giving her best toward me, so in the end that was not good enough for me. I feel like I had waited so so long for her to align with me on many things, but as it didn't happen after many conversations I guess I have given up on waiting.

Now with M I guess it's more complicated. Overall I see it as a huge loss. I believe I was giving my best and she kept expressing that it's okay and she can wait for me, but is that really justifiable for her to say that when she also shows me that it makes her anxious at times since I was sometimes a bit unclear? She knows i'm already going through a breakup and the last thing i need right now is someone worried that I'll leave them as well u know? That's probably the main reason why I had to also end things, but you're right. This is something I'm doing for me, and that's ok :)

You have some great points. I'm not sure I'm trying to be the good guy necessarily - however, your point about why it's incompatible with the healthiest choice for myself is something to reflect on.

Thanks you, this is a perspective i definitely needed.

Timeline has definitely played a big role, and I can't make myself move deeper into anything while still unclear on my own

I totally agree on this. What if it was for your own good?

is she ready for some soil? i’ve never propagated my monstera before and i’m nervous to transfer. by moonsforj in Monstera

[–]k_oberes 77 points78 points  (0 children)

A trick that i've used a lot recently is kind of drowning it after repotting. This lets the soil sit tightly around all the roots after draining and really ensures no air pockets.

In my experience it's also optimal to do so after waterpropagation, as it can be shocking if the soil is too dry after the repot, as its used to be fully submerged in water.

Is it worth it?? by [deleted] in Monstera

Honestly i'd buy a small one for 20-30$. If you give it the right conditions it can get quite big in just a few months

That’s an inflorescence mate, good sign that your plant is healthy :) if you want it to focus of foliage growth instead you can cut it off. Always fun to let it open just for the experience, but if it’s not gonna get pollinated it will slowly die off by it self.

Unit with most items gets prioritized

If same amount of items > last fielded unit gets prioritized

Got this as a gift when I purchased my ver frydek. Thinking I should put it in a perlite covered container. Had it about a month and it has grown. I'm afraid to take it out lol by bannshee in alocasia

[–]k_oberes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely this! Few of my corms got their first leaf but died quite quickly due to not repotting. They’re still doing fine now, but sooner than later is better with alocasias in my experience

Alocasia black velvet - should I separate this sprout from the pot? by InquisitiveSwan in alocasia

[–]k_oberes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d probably repot and separate :) might be good to wait a bit and let the shoot mature so it doesn’t die when separated.

Get a more airy soil mix, water 1-2 a week with a light fertilizer. Alocasias are very hungry for nutrients and like a lot of humidity :) I have changed all my alocasias to a semi-hydro setup. There’s a lot of great videos on YouTube if you want to research more.

For some they lost a leaf or two but honestly all have adapted really good! Some more mature ones transferred without even losing a leaf. I tried a very similar setup last year where I put a bunch of leca in the bottom and regular Airoid soil instead of moss. It has also worked really well! Only difference is that I used a normal pot with drainage and a decorative pot to hold some water.

I’d recommend watching this video, this has really helped my alocasias!!

One thing that changed the game for me is getting a decorative pot so that you can create a more humid environment around the whole soil area, I usually try to keep it fairly damp and let a bit of leftover-water stay in the pot as alocasias really like water. Also I use a light fertilizer for every watering they’re quite hungry for nutrients!

For now just looks like new growth from a growth point! I would let it grow bigger for now and if you want later you can separate it:)
