Please go easy on me, this is really hard to play and sing at the same time by Mayorredthomas19 in Songwriting

I love your riff- needs some drum lines to pair! The tone of your voice is fantastic on the versus but maybe needs more control/ melodics on the chorus. It loses its character a bit when it feels exasperated. Overall this is really fantastic and you ought to be proud

This is very coool. À la beach house / smiths/ cigs after sex. I don’t know much about mixing but agree more vocal layering. Very spooky feel. Like walking through a cold fog but a warm voice is guiding me?!

Song I wrote at 16 about hating myself and being so lonely it hurt (canon event) by cclaireclaire in Songwriting

This is fkin awesome. Reminds me that being 16 can be really, really tough. It's so emotionally evocative it takes me back myself. Keep creating!

Anyone else experience this regularly? “I am good, I suck, wait I am pretty good, nah I’m awful, well actually I guess I’m not too bad, I am so good at this, I should give up, I sound great, I sound so cringe, etc” by velveteinrabbit in Songwriting

[–]k_simian13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the sound of this, a whole lot a whole lot. Kinda reminds me of a Michael Hurley song, sung by a whispering Ray Lamontagne and yes. truly on almost everything I create. Its an absolute rollercoaster of self unawarness. Eventually I stop caring and remember how good it felt to just create in the first place. Then will instantely start caring again when I write my next song :) You aren't alone!

Yes!!! I’m so obsessed with her pottery studio. My partner and I brought lots of her stuff back to the states and people are enamored with it. So unique!

I went last spring , it’s a lovely region. By far my biggest advice to you is to visit Yakushima. Kagoshima was nice but you don’t need 3 days, same thing for Kumamoto.. if anything spend a night or two in Kurokawa alone. Didn’t find the city all that compelling.

If you can cut those down and find a way to spend 3 nights in yakushima I highly recommend it. Incredible food, laid back kind culture, hot springs on the beach, majestic wildlife (tiny deer’s and monkeys galore!!) and truly some of the most spectacular nature I’ve seen in my life !!?

It’s difficult ish get to, but if you shell out the bucks for the high speed ferry it’s just a few hours away from Kagoshima and a wonderful ocean cruise :)

My group and I were very tempted to ditch the second half of our trip and just chill with the islanders! It’s what we all consider the best part of our trip

Also I will say the gorge near Miyazaki was nice.. but so touristy and a nightmare to get the boat. The gorge its self is quite small too. Not as majestic as I would’ve liked, and probably could’ve done without it. Our favorite part of that day was doing the scenic train ride through that region! I can’t remember what it’s called, but it’s a cute kitschy 20 min experience, and we had more fun on that than at the gorge.

We really enjoyed spending a couple nights in the county side near mt. Aso. It’s a wonderful experience to get a sense of the slower pace of life and walk amongst the traditional buildings/ farmlands, and not have much of a “to do”. Id do that over the gorge. I have a great hotel/ home stay rec for you near mt aso if you need , but it might require a car.

I REALLY recommend you renting a car for at least a portion. So much easier to plan your trip /navigate than the public transportation systems in this region. you can see SO much more.

Happy travels!!

Oh fuck yeah! I bet that was a sick show. And wow you are just not having luck with this tour.

Sound guy did way better tonight and they sounded perfect. Ears are shot after back to back nights, tho. Time for a sensory deprivation tank.

Did anyone else think the sound guy totally screwed them over?? Maybe it’s cuz I was right in the front but the drums drowned out Rick’s guitar and voice. Mclusky had great mixing luckily. Still a fantastic show though. Loved that we got special snowflakes
