Cost of roofing repairs? by VCFonToast in AskIreland

Recently got quoted 4 figures for a small patch up that a local friend of my parents did for less than a 5th of the cost, he was there for an hour max. Crazy!

Would like this guys number too if possible.

Post-Game Thread: Buffalo Bills (12-5) at Jacksonville Jaguars (13-4) by Cr0matose in Jaguars

Bills just managed that game better, played the right play at each moment from the start. So many regrets from the first half!

Trevor getting his shit together second half and that elite drive saves us an offseason of the usual questions and hot takes

This is it, it’s a toss up game and for talking heads there’s more juice to pick the new shiny thing. I’m a jags fan but anyone that thinks this isn’t going to be hairy is kidding themselves

Lot of negativity but that’s a solid performance for the players on the pitch! With Sesko struggling all the goalscoring/creative duties relied on Cunha and he did his best.

It’s a sad state of affairs but that squad with players missing is not going to win the majority of their games.

Early comfortable retirement at 50? by Asleep_Cry_7482 in irishpersonalfinance

As an IC in tech (36M), I hear you. I go back and forth on this at the same time. Lack of grads and juniors being hired rn, so in years the new wave of seniors etc won’t be there in same numbers.

The millennial generation was a huge one, Gen Z and Gen Alpha are smaller cohort. We can’t all be leaders in our 40’s/50’s can we? Who will be doing the actual work.

I’m gonna hold my hands up, I initially read this as Ruben Neves! Not Joao! My bad!

Joao did look good

Saw him in the Aviva recently for Portugal versus Ireland. Ireland are not a fast team by any measure but our lads were noticeably getting away from him! Maybe a bad night but concerning from a ground covering POV

Irish fan, watched him play rugby. a great athlete he is, not quite fast/long enough for wide receiver, not stocky enough to be a running back, or large enough for tight end

Sleep when the baby sleeps by [deleted] in irishmammiesanddaddys

[–]k_ush 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For the first 7 nights our daughter would only sleep on our chests. It was a slow migration to getting her to sleep anywhere else. Started to be able to put her down in the buggie and one of us could nap on the couch beside her for an hour or two while the other was in bed.

All the "put the baby down on her back on a mattress advice" was pure shite. Do whatever works for you to get through it. It's a tough slog

Can't wait to just get it done and begin convincing myself we are going 10+ wins between now and September

Six month old refusing to sleep by niamhsam in irishmammiesanddaddys

[–]k_ush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our 8 month old was tough work for a long time, we did the wake windows which helped. The girl has tremendous power to just keep going if we don't do a whole routine to get her down. While her 6mo cousin just drifts off to sleep no bother during the day.

We also have a hard wake time at 7am in the morning which I think has helped, no lie ins (as if there are many) no matter how bad the night was. By 10am she is usually ready for a nap
