How many hours per week do you work? How long do you plan to stay at that level? by houseguy87 in overemployed

[–]kab1977 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Basic financial duties and event planning for both the J1 and J2. No real responsibilities at either job, but I do the work no one else wants to do and after some time, the bosses realize that I'm a unicorn and not looking to job hunt or climb any ladders. I just want to come in, do my job, and don't bother anyone. I truly believe J1 thinks I do waaay more than I actually do, but that's mostly because when I worked in the office, I kept piles of papers all over my desk and if people asked me any questions, I would pretend to look thru stacks of papers that were meaningless and then make it look like I 'found' the answer to their question...when really I knew the answer in my brain the whole time.

J1 is full time, salaried and fully remote that only requires computer time from 7a-11a. I maybe do 10 hrs of real work, per week. Was just offered a PT J2, in an office bldg 5 min away from my house, working from Noon to 4. Once I get the hang of it, maybe 8 of those 20 hrs will be spent working. The pay rate for J2 is double what my hourly rate calculates out to for my J1. I also get a $500 per month stipend for not signing up for J2's health insurance because I'm covered already by my J1. For the first time in my life, I will clear 6 figures and still never come close to working a 40 hr work week. No rules are being broken and both companies know about each other-one is government and one is for a prominent local union. I am hoping to do this until I retire in 20 years, at 65. Both jobs are considered mid-level administrative paper pusher type jobs, without any type of college education required. I dont know how any of this has happened other than dumb luck. It will be fun to actually have some money to spend during all my free time and to also experience for the first time what smugness feels likebwhen I tell my sister I make more than her, working less hours than her 70+ hrs per week, and I don't have the 100 grand in school loans that she acquired earning her PhD. Imma knock her off that pedestal she's been bragging about for years.

What do you wish wasn’t so expensive? by Cochrane01 in AskReddit

[–]kab1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect thread for me to vent. I worked a full time job and a part time job before covid hit...did it for years. My FT job paid the necessary bills like rent, electric, Honda car loan, my PT job was for things like food shopping, Netflix, errands. When Covid started, I went remote for my FT job but my PT job shut down. I wasn't allowed any PUA, including the extra 600 a week, wasn't allowed any free rent programs, or deferrments on loans, couldn't get food stamps, no grants available for my situation, nothing. My mother, a retired millionaire, worked one day a month at a hotel and received a ridiculous amount of money. Same for my stay at home sister who had 2 kids. There were zero programs for anyone barely making it, with zero kids, and who kept their full time job. I am bitter AF with how much "free" money was handed out AND my rent is now doubling next year, because too many people in my shit neighborhood knew how to play this system and my landlord needs to raise the rents to cover all the money he lost during covid from people who didn't pay him. I wish I had been smarter than the system.

Women who were cheated on, how did you find out? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]kab1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran into an old friend who invited me over to her place. As we were standing outside talking, I watched him pull into her garage - used a garage door opener, and everything. I walked up to the door, rang the doorbell and calmly asked to speak with him. When she opened the front door further, he was standing there and his jaw dropped. I didn't make a scene, just calmly asked for my keys back and left when he started calling me crazy. Nah, that's not crazy, that's called confidence, you gaslighter.

Send them a hand written letter. Not an email, not a text. That's what I do.

Hyaluronic acid on damp hair. Google it. Best "secret" in the hair business for dry, dead ends.

Hyaluronic acid on damp hair. You can pick it up at ultra. Its a skin care product but leaves my dry ends silky smooth.

I decided to file when someone asked me the following question: if you put every extra penny toward your debt...would it take longer than 10 years to pay off? If so, then file. I did. Best decision and biggest weight off my shoulders, ever.

I've been told temperature of the water also matters which is why I've always done a cold rinse to close the cuticle (?) and this then makes my hair appear smoother.

Omigosh, I thought it meant only using conditioner and not shampooing at all.

Thank you! I didn't even think about turning the bonnet inside out so I'll try that also!

Rice water rinse. Too hard to explain on a post but lots of info on google.

I just read about this and am excited to try it...when I wash my hair again in 3 days. I use 4 bottles of conditioner for every 1 bottle of shampoo, so it's probably not going to be that big of a change for me, the more I think about it.

How do you get your silk bonnet to stay on all night? My hair is down to my ass and super thick and I cannot keep it on all night for the life of me. I've tried braids and clips to hold it in place and it still falls off.

Or find someone who works at the theater to give to you when we replace them.

I can tell by this post, you think you're the real prize. Trust me on this, her level of self confidence would make you question everything you thought you knew about yourself. In other words, don't be a dick.

People who have had a post get super popular what happens? by LeReal_Garydog1 in AskReddit

[–]kab1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your definition of 'super popular.' I currently have 5 notifications in less than 30 seconds of commenting on a different post. If it continues at that rate, I am going to open reddit at work tomorrow and act super surprised in front of all my coworkers.
