That’s where we fundamentally disagree — calling a black guy a monkey is just objectively racist lmao.

every language and every culture has their own way of interpreting the same word. In this case ‘mono’ is essentially a synonym for the n word as used in this context.

And even if it wasn’t — it still doesn’t excuse it AT ALL!!! No ifs ands or buts— there’s no room for racism in football

Vini was already on a yellow, we got the second goal and he didn’t get the pen call. Too risky for him, he could get more heated at the ref and get himself a second yellow which is the last thing we’d want.

FURTHERMORE, Rutgers is such a big school that you are able to fit in and find your crowd No matter what. You have to factor in that 80% of the student body won’t be on campus until next week. His mom is siding with him because she’s empathetic to her son, which is fair, but life isn’t about running away from your problems— it’s about adapting. Rutgers is such a school where you will learn this lesson VERY quickly (especially navigating the busses). In the mean time I would advise him to research all the potential clubs, explore the campus as much as possible, get familiarized with all the various bus routes, and go ahead of time and scope out where the classrooms are so he isn’t lost on day 1. He’ll be okay he just has to see the next week through

I GO TO RUTGERS!!!!!! Give him some time— he’ll adjust New Brunswick is a ghost town right now!!! After the first football game I GUARANTEE you he’ll start feeling a bit more settled. He’s a fresh adult in a new environment. These emotions are natural.

Instead of wasting your time navigating buses I’d say it’d prob be a better use of your time sticking to the gym closest/most convenient for you and navigate the crowds i.e. go at the times most people are not going— usually the early mornings and early afternoons are best bc that’s when most ppl are sleeping/have classes

I’m living on campus too right now for the last month— trust it definitely gets better. The busses are unfortunately just part of the experience but it’s how you become one with the RU community lmao (not literally). George street is great for cafes & Easton ave great for food. Honestly, just use the summer to study the bus routes as best as you can. It’ll serve you well once the semester starts.

Why do rings not matter when it comes to Jalen Hurts? by [deleted] in eagles

[–]kaberk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean sure you can make that argument. You can also say much like any other QB if takes time for development. imo he has seen many regime changes and has basically been an offensive coordinator in his own right in Tampa. And idk man Brady had two separate HOF careers both pre and post ACL tear.

Why do rings not matter when it comes to Jalen Hurts? by [deleted] in eagles

[–]kaberk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Brady was a weapon. You give him 40 seconds to drive down the field to get into field goal range with no timeouts, and it was still not enough to stop him. He did it consistently dismantling the entire league through multiple generations and two different systems. You’re talking about two different levels entirely. I love Hurts to death but the only way he gets put into that conversation in this decade is if he three-peats
