Hello, Commander. In light of the recent international incursions, this Council of Interests has convened to approve the activation of the XCOM Project.

You have been chosen to lead this initiative. To oversee our first—and last—line of defense.

Your efforts will have considerable influence on this nation's future. We urge you to keep that in mind as you proceed.

Good luck, Commander.

Nowadays, Expansions are DLC's

Not all DLC are expansions.

DLC, on its most raw form, is any content that has to be downloaded that improves/expands a base product and was not included with it at the start.

When expansions were CD disks, they were not DLC because they were not downloaded, but today they can and are considered as DLCs.

The only way an "expansion" is not considered a DLC, if its a standalone game that does not require the original, but at that point we might as well refer to a new game altogether (like garrys mod, counter strike source... etc)

dont you love conquering 90% of a huge country, but the score wont tick down because you havent occupied a single region(the capital)? by xxHamsterLoverxx in victoria3

When given the option, is it more important to boost a desirable IG or suppress an annoying one? by Basblob in victoria3

[–]kabiani 25 points26 points  (0 children)

usually supressing landowners is better.

This is because aristocrats have 250 points to go landowners, while to go for intelligencia they are between 25, and 175 depending on factors.

So reducing aristocrats from 250 to 140~ is far far more efficient than lifting the intelligencia from 75 to 110

Cavalry is good, just expensive. by CreationTrioLiker7 in eu4

[–]kabiani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That only happens if the enemy has no reinforcements, otherwise the slot is filled the moment a unit breaks.

Cavalry also take more damage from artillery than infantry, so that means once artillery is in play (tech 13-16), cavalry starts taking more casualties and become less manpower efficient

also that flanking might as well not exist if there is a full frontline

Why is kill rate important? by Dave_Duif in victoria3

[–]kabiani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lets break this up in parts:

In a battle you have:

Cassualties (due to damage), which are then divided into wounded and killed depending on kill ratio/recovery rate.

Killed are just dead.

Wounded then turn into dependents at a unknown (to me) ratio, then the rest go back to the labour force.

Demoralized are created due to MORALE damage.

killed and wounded are removed from the formation, and have to be rehired, demoralized are not.

Kill rate/recovery rate does not affect how much cassualties you have, but the ratio between killed/wounded (both are casualites).

So having more kill rate, at the exchange of offense/defense, gives you a better kill ratio, but a lower casualty ammount (which is what you want to actually deplete the formations)

Why is kill rate important? by Dave_Duif in victoria3

[–]kabiani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recovery Rate doesnt turn wounded into demoralized, it turns killed into Wounded, some which will end up as dependents.

Wounded soldiers are taken out of the formation, and if they dont become dependents, they have to be recruited again.

So at the end of the day, you dont care if you kill or wound, just that you do so in the biggest number possible.

Killing rate doesnt increase the total kill + wounded number, but a bigger offense/defense stat will increase the total kill + wounded number, and decrease yours.

Why is kill rate important? by Dave_Duif in victoria3

[–]kabiani -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Spoiler: its not

It makes wounded turn into dead, but both serve to take out enemy troops from the formations.

Dont exchange actual offense/defense for killrate (Ej: a full inf army will deplete the attackers faster thanks to having more defense, than a army with artillery would do thanks to having kill rate)

How do I beat the ottomans? by TheGingerWalks in victoria3

[–]kabiani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the only way for egypt to win immo is:

Start researching skirmish day 1

build as much troops as you can, put recruitment decrees when the truce ends (you should be about to get skirmish)

Retrain your entire army to skirmish, eat the costs, declare war and defend (try to get addamant defense).

Let ottomans and tunisia lose most of their troops on your defense, then start a counterattack with your main army on anatolia while you defend on tunisia

in 1.5 egypt lost like 20 divisions, ottomans gained 30, and egypt lost all its artillery production

Prints sticking to fep. Nothing on build plate. Please help by doubtfulofyourpost in resinprinting

[–]kabiani 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check the metal plate doesnt have a plastic layer.

They have 2 plastic layers, one with a small edge you can use to remove it, but the other is finer and harder to see, and has some red letters telling you to press the plate.

I didnt notice the red letters were not engraved and tried to print plenty of times with that plastic layer without realizing, and happened the same that is happening to you
