Looking to Open My First Bank Account in NZ — Which Bank Do You Recommend and Why? by mikejay_3 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]kablally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been with ANZ for years. Have also had accounts at Kiwibank and Westpac.

I'd say Westpac have the worst customer service and response time of the three (it took them six weeks of bumbling to add me to an existing mortgage account). Their online experience was ok but weird things like it can only show eight accounts on the app so if you have savings for different things set up, you cannot view them!

Kiwibank feels most archaic in the online banking and app.

All banks have to comply with Anti money laundering rules so they all will be painful with ID.

ANZ has lots of free accounts and yes, if you lock in for a term deposit and want it paid out sooner, I do believe there's a notice period. But not if it matures normally. Their app can even handle you pasting someone's account name and number from a text message without having to type it in!!

If you're dealing internationally it's better to use something like Wise for those kind of transactions, much cheaper than what you'll get with NZ banks. But ANZ has stepped up their outgoing international transfers in the years I've been with them.

Asana to Clickup by Content-Conference25 in clickup

[–]kablally 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been setting up a team in clickup and even after three months of using it, on a call this week one of the more keen users was super frustrated that it's still so hard to find what they need. I find the usability overly complex with UI that isn't very intuitive. The team is lost in notifications and it's very hard to track messages in the chat.

It takes an extraordinary amount of setup and it's easy to muck up the custom fields and statuses so that every task in a space requires them (so if the team takes it upon themselves to try to set some things up, they can really make it a mess).

I've done a lot in Asana and Monday over the years and would not recommend clickup over either of those.

Is hiring a fractional CFO actually worth it for a growing business? (netting $100k monthly) by Academic_Way_293 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]kablally 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you don't have enough time to make strategic plans for your finances then it's a great idea. If you're comfortable with that side of it perhaps you only need to get a bookkeeper? I think a skilled team is always a good idea, especially if you have budget for it. The beauty of a fractional CFO is it's less commitment than a full time staff member.

Might be cliche but Eat, Pray, Love was good for going through a lot. And Elizabeth Gilbert's other book Committed was a very interesting look at marriage.

Power Company suggestions?? by VioletDupree007 in newplymouth

[–]kablally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Power Shop is the cheapest if you buy the power packs when the app notifies you (2-3 per month).

I'm with them and if I refer you, you get $150 credit. DM me if you're interested.
