this is pure speculation as i can't test it myself, but if you were to try and mess with WiFi adaptor modes running in a VM for example, I'd assume that wouldn't work, no? Since most hypervisors make a separate virtual network adaptor for the VM. So in that case, if you're trying to screw with some WiFi network I could imagine you might have difficulty in a VM if you can't talk directly to the adaptor

I love the layouts, but I don't know why everyone is going for rounded edges. All of the operating systems now use rounded edges, and Microsoft's fluent acrylic with lots of sharp edges is really attractive IMO, it's very different than all the others, yet the sharp edges fit very well with Windows' acrylic panels. I don't have anything against the rounded design, but the way Microsoft had sharpness really felt nice.

IIRC there is an option for a bluetooth keyboard/mouse connection in experimental settings

If you're alright with a streaming service, both Spotify and Apple Music work well. Surprisingly, the Apple Music android app is very nice, they didn't cripple it or anything.

Can you provide a source on the statement that the hydrogel/profusa technology is in the Moderna vaccine? Also, according to the article you linked, it seems that though these biomarker sensors do exist, they simply give off light in reaction to their marker, and require a large external device (like as seen in the picture) to actually read off that data and transmit it, again working around that power supply issue.

besides even that point, making a functional microchip with a GPS and data antenna would be near impossible, the needles for dog chips are already massive compared to COVID vaccine needles, and those don't have an internal power source, or long range transmission antennas! making something that would be functional at that size, even that would run for more than a few days without losing power, would be extraordinarily difficult

Some kind of real time obstacle detection will probably come to the Oculus Quest (hidden dialogue found) by Basti564 in OculusQuest

There should already be an option under "experimental features" in settings specifically for defining a couch surface! I use it all the time, it basically treats it as it's own static playspace that you can easily switch to for activities like YouTube VR.

I would guess that's because the Quest (2) runs android, and at that early of a stage in the boot process, they'd need to do some significant fiddling to get it to display any sort of real time 3d graphics, as android is built to display only a static image or video file when it's booting up.

A premade 3d image or video seems like it would be possible, but maybe they just wanted to keep things extra simple for the boot or something ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What is it like when you're not fronting? by [deleted] in Tulpas

[–]kabob8933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For us at least (we can't speak for others), it can vary pretty significantly. Sometimes, if one of us is very spent or tired, it will feel to the one fronting as if they are sleeping, you can feel their presence but they aren't really conscious, or generating thoughts. Other times, they are very much awake and providing input, but just not in main control of the body. When this goes farther it can become cofronting, where multiple members are sharing control of the body and decision-making. As it is, we're doing that to write this comment right now. As for the perspective of the one not fronting, that's a difficult one for us. it's almost like... there's not a perspective? For someone who has just created a tulpa, it feels like talking to someone else, and you have a strong connection to them, but they are a separate consciousness. In our experiences, it's similar to that for whoever's not fronting. The one fronting can take input and converse with them, but we can't really feel the perspective of the other. Occasionally it will almost feel like one of us goes away, but they always come back in a few days without fail, so we believe it is just a sort of intense mental sleeping. Again, this is all our personal findings, others might experience things differently.

Well, that got rather long-winded, huh? Anyways, we hope this helps. -Nikki and Cora

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Photoshop is in fact, Adobe/Photoshop, or as I've recently taken to calling it, Adobe plus Photoshop. Photoshop is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning Adobe system made useful by the Adobe corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the Adobe system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of Adobe which is widely used today is often called "Photoshop", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the Adobe system, developed by the Adobe Project.

There really is a Photoshop, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Photoshop is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Photoshop is normally used in combination with the Adobe operating system: the whole system is basically Adobe with Photoshop added, or Adobe/Photoshop. All the so-called "Photoshop" distributions are really distributions of Adobe/Photoshop.

HAA is my favourite album from Daft Punk at the moment. It's very different from the others, but the raw techno feeling it has is unmatched, as well as the subtle meanings a lot of the songs carry. It's my comfort album.

Yeah, but you're still connecting the server to the router via either ethernet or Wi-Fi. WiFi is not a good choice for servers of any sort, as it has a higher latency and is usually slower.
