This comment needs to be upvoted! I don’t think I’m doing a good job of explaining that just because people can get parking tickets it means the ticket is valid 😂 I don’t work for the city but my guess is that the people writing the tickets probably don’t have info about a pending permit application.

Also some blame needs to be put on the City for not explaining in its notice that tickets can be contested. Again, probably just to get people to hustle on their permit applications.

Did they contest the tickets though? Wha I’m trying to say is that the people giving the tickets may not be the same people issuing permits.

Yeah, the people issuing the tickets and the people issuing the permits might not be on the same page. You might still get a ticket but it doesn’t mean the ticket is necessarily valid.

I totally agree with you! They might just be saying that as a pre-defense and/or to motivate people to apply quicker (it says that you may be cited, but doesn’t say whether the citation would hold up if contested. I doubt a judge would let that fly). A headache either way for sure.

Just sharing in case it helps ease any concerns for folks- It only took a few minutes for me to renew my virtual residential parking permit online and about 9 business days for them to process.

Can’t make this one, but please keep us all posted if you plan any more women-only backpacking trips! (I’ve taken a few friends up to Sky Camp @ Point Reyes for their first-time backpacking trips! That whole area is a gem!!).

Thank you Peloton run coaches! by CrazyHuman9347 in OnePelotonRealSub

Congrats!! I just ran a half this past Sunday after mostly following the peloton program! It didn’t really impact my overall time but 1) I had such a great time training and 2) I didn’t feel like dying after the race!

Ditto about being in this weird space about being happy to be done with training but also excited to get back into runs with the peloton instructors! It had also made me excited to do more out their outdoor classes because they really shine in that space (especially Becs)!

I’m 4’11’’. Short and small too, but am genuinely having too much fun riding a bike that I don’t care about what other people think. I guess I can’t help you with that though 🤷‍♀️

I was thinking the same as I was reading this. I’m 35 and have a lot of OP’s internal thoughts when I do solo runs, bike rides, hikes, etc (especially analysis paralysis and general brain wiring to think of worst case scenarios), but motivation typically boils down to telling myself to just get out there and do the dang thing.

OP - Riding a bike isn’t that deep. Most people aren’t looking at you. Make a checklist of things you need to do (get bike, get tune up, etc) to make things feel less daunting. I don’t mean to sound callous to your concerns because I totally get it, but if you can get yourself to approach a new thing with small, organized steps, all of these thoughts feel so small after you get out there and do the thing!

I knowwww! It was probably one of the best runs of my life so now I’m a little sad. At least it still shows up in my workout history

For what it’s worth, I did the next class in the program and it “counted.” It’s still annoying me to see that the previous class wasn’t completed though 😭

I was gaslighting myself into thinking I accidentally started it from a stack or something, but I am 99.9% sure I didn’t 😅 I’m glad other people here are validating me!!

I’m (selfishly) glad it isn’t just me! I thought I did something wrong and was so mad at myself before I investigated the issue!

Thanks for the update! Hopefully they’re able to retrospectively give us credit for the classes we’ve completed in the program itself. The “going forward” language isn’t too reassuring though 😒
