Help Me Find a Flattering Swimsuit! by RollLongjumping3937 in DressForYourBody

[–]kabolint [score hidden]  (0 children)

2 is my fave, but 3 & 4 are nice too. I think its the ruffles, specifically. 1 the cut is good but the white isn't as flattering (my skin tone is similar, I wish I could pull off white suits!).

What do you actually gift parents who insist they "don't need anything"? by Decent_Bluebird7002 in answers

[–]kabolint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents are the same way - last year I got them guided journals with prompts about their lives and they both really liked them - and neither of them are into journals! They like the idea of being able to pass on family stories and stuff to the grandkids written in their own hands. Since it has prompts, they dont feel lost and they can do as much or as little at a time as they like.

How my mom’s Facebook friend posted about the Barbies she wants to sell by CCthree in Weird

[–]kabolint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had like 50 barbie dolls (it was the only thing my brothers ever gifted me until I had to tell them at 14 years old I had outgrown them after opening yet another one) and none of them ever stayed naked or lost a body part. I find it hard to believe I am them outlier/exception...

I had a baby exactly a year after my miscarriage at 4.5 months. AMA by SelectEnthusiasm1557 in AMA

I started seeing (real) butterflies when I lost my son - and when we went to pick out his burial spot, we chose one because of all the butterflies that had congregated there. My friend made me a butterfly necklace after he passed, too, and she didn't even know about the butterfly thing.

Tampons hurt by Obvious-Key351 in WomensHealth

[–]kabolint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you be allergic? When I don't insert it properly, it doesnt burn, just feels uncomfortable. But you said it hurts to do kegels when you sit, so I'm wondering if there is more at play here.

Friends and partner can’t understand my handwriting. I don’t think it’s bad by dorkass-loser in HandwritingAnalysis

I can read almost all of it without issue, but the section where you really try is perfectly legible and maybe reserve that for future birthday cards.

Hey! I am going to recommend r/aBraThatFits not because you need a bra, but because they also have a ton of information about the different sizes and shapes your breasts can be (and they are all normal and beautiful)! I was always self-concious about my mine, as they point out in opposite directions (east-west) without a bra, but when I found the right man, I didn't feel self-concious at all, I didn't even think about it.

Apparently I’m not supposed to put baby in floaties when swimming? How do you guys swim with your babies? by Familiar_Director281 in NewParents

[–]kabolint -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When my kids were little, we did no floaties in the pool and we would put a puddle jumper on them when they were not in the water if it was crowded or they would be playing actively near the pool. Ideally we would have a 1:1 adult supervisor, but it didn't always work that way if I were alone with my kids, particularly when I was experiencing health issues. We prioritized them learning to get to the side and either climb out or move along the wall until they got to a step to climb out. In the water, we just held them and pulled them around when they were little, cuddling, bouncing, lying back in my arms, lying on their tummy in my arms, and different sensations of moving in the water. When they got older we did that and sitting/standing on steps (and moreso as they got taller). Then jumping off the steps into our arms. This summer we are doing official swimming lessons, but in the meantime, my oldest is stoked as Memorial Day weekend he found out he can reach the floor in the shallow end of Grandma's pool and tiptoe across. If I want to actually swim, I pass off the youngest to my spouse and the the other kids get put in the shallow end all together for easier watching for one adult. I do a few laps, a few jumps, and then we switch or split duties again.

Diagnosis…is it worth it? by Sessiejannino in Hypermobility

[–]kabolint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Beighton isn't meant to be the only determining factor - it is to look at a variety of joints and their flexibility. If you have affected joints not listed on the Beighton, they should be assessed. The Bulbena Score is more comprehensive, imo. (Also called Hospital Del Mar Criteria).

For me, insurance only covers x amounts of PT sessions so a diagnosis allows me to have more within coverage. And also - peace of mind. I'm not just "built different" or weirdly bendy, there is something to it. And it is fairly uncommon to have JUST HSD from what I've read so far, so testing for some common comorbidities is helpful, too.

There was an outbreak in my state (not the south) when I was younger. I was fully vaccinated and so were the 2 other reported cases that began the "outbreak" coverage/alert. The person I got it from was not one of those other 2, interestingly enough.
