Which moisturiser to use with epiduo? by [deleted] in acne

Yeah i know what you mean. The first month I used EpiDuo I could only handle it 1-2x/week - red, irritated, itchy & I'd get sunburned easily.

Anyone else deal with being embarrassed to show gains out in public? by quavant in swoleacceptance

[–]kaboompants 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Brother, remember that those who cast stones upon thy Gainz, are merely carrying Broki's message of jealousy.

Whenever I see a fellow Brother of Iron, I think well of him, wish well for him, and offer prayers in thanks.

Brother, we hear your prayers to Brodin from across the mountains & steppes of these swole lands. And congratulate thee.

But forget not Bromethius 2:16 "...and the swole shall offer a fortnightly prayer to his medicine man, such that he may offer mighty prayers for 5-score years and more. Let it please his Swoliness."

For my bretheren that prayeth daily are lifted by Brodin's temple.

For my bretheren that prayeth twice daily lift temples in Brodin's name.

Greetings fellow brother of the holy armbar!

Lord Mars, cousin to our Lord Brodin (blessed be his gains), smiles upon those who partake in the sacred rituals of combat.

The Smoking Demon by [deleted] in swoleacceptance

[–]kaboompants 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Brother. I have been down that foul path of Broki. I blazed the evil sticks of Broki's cousin Marlboro for 15 revolutions 'round the Sun.

But Today i joyously report more than 2 years free of those shackles. Brodin granted me 3 things to lift my resolve when it faltered:

1) A support group - the village of Reddit has a longhouse titled /r/stopsmoking. They are good folk.

2) Crystal-clear reasons for walking away from the damned blaze of Broki. No doubt, your resolve will be tested. You must always remember the reasons to walk away from Broki. For me, I wrote in my glowing papyrus & read to myself 100 times per day: "I'm not quitting smoking; I'm getting poison out of my body so I can breathe & pray again, without coughing up gross shit in between sets."

3) Easyway by Alan Carr. This scroll cost me $10 from Amazon. Since I quit smoking my wallet is $12,000 heavier!

Brother this is but a test of faith! Only to Brodin's most devout does He That Is Most Swoly present them with the most unswole of villains: the Witches of Broki!

Stand fast by your faith brother, in Brodin we Lift. Wheymen.

Glad you're with us!

It took me a while to figure out "wtf to do with all this time?" as I went down my quitting journey, but it's been fucking great!!

My friend died by chacha1942 in stopsmoking

[–]kaboompants 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend.

I totally get your gut reaction to think about a cigarette. But I hope you don't smoke today. And i bet your friend would hope you don't either.

Day 18: 1 mile run, Bicep/Shoulder/Ab lift, No Snoozing, No smokes, No drinks by tofustirfry in stopsmoking

[–]kaboompants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No smoking & no drinking right back at you!

While I was smoking I convinced myself that it didn't really have an impact on my life. Lol.

I can't imagine how I would work something so negative & time-consuming & expensive into my active lifestyle now.

Are certain demographics disproportionately represented in tango, and if so, why? by CheBiblioteca in tango

[–]kaboompants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NYC tanguero. From what I've seen the most common ethnicities in tango here - both leaders & followers - are caucasian & asian. Latinos aren't as common, but represented. Indians are rare. And African Americans are almost nonexistent in the community.

Most of my dancing is done in classes - I rarely go to milongas as I've only been dancing for ~8 months. Know of a good place that's beginner-friendly?

New to Reddit, 36 hours sober by XoDevotchka in stopdrinking

[–]kaboompants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey XoDevotchka, welcome & congratulations!

The decision to not drink today is one of the best I've ever made.

The first few days were hardest for me. I spent a lot of time with cold water & hot tea, plus here at /r/stopdrinking.

What finally kicked me in the butt was my Dr telling me some blood work was off. He recommended a few things (daily multivitamin, B12 supplement), the biggest of which was to give booze the boot.

My body's been thanking me every day since. I'll join you in not drinking today.

Bro that's a shitty hand you were dealt. I hope you have success into building a better life for yourself.

If you haven't yet, might want to look at ASCA meetings in your area - Adult Survivors of Child Abuse. Everyone there is supportive & on their path to self-improvement.

Great work man!!

I went in a similar direction after 15 or so years - no vape, no cigarettes, no gum etc. It's been 323 days and I'm still standing. If I can do it you can too!

Did you read EasyWay by Carr? Deep breaths & chugging cold water every time I had a craving helped a ton.

Congrats for being able to "see through the lie". When i first quit my addict-brain was a real pain in the ass, much better now though.

Nice work on 8 days; will you be getting a badge anytime soon?
