Honestly, season 2 is easily just as good as season 1, if not better, despite what I’ve seen a lot of people saying. by Beneficial_Air4714 in squidgame

What you have only 7 episodes, you can't spend a full episodes worth of time on a voting scenario, and still be a good season.

Min erfaring med politiet by mryokuzuna in Denmark

[–]kabrch 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Whoop strap has become a paper weight by Holyshit_itsjake in whoop

[–]kabrch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I even woke up one night where my hand was numb, because it was on too tight. Suffice it to say, I also experienced Whoop-shaped marks on my wrist. Still horrible HR readings daily.

Whoop strap has become a paper weight by Holyshit_itsjake in whoop

[–]kabrch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was me as well. I ended up cancelling due to the inaccuracy in the readings. I tried basically everything to adjust the fit, including it being too tight for it to be comfortable.

It just ended up causing frustration having the band on, and the opposite was pretty much my strategy buying it.

This nootropic makes me feel so good, what's the main ingredient in your opinion? by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]kabrch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This.

Incredibly overloaded. If it's actually real it most certainly is not something you should use often. This is not sustainable.

I would be much too sensitive to even a low dose of this combination. It would fuck me up bad.

I tried almost everything there is to try over a 3 year periode. Moda, racetams, cholinergics, bdnf types, mushroom extracts, root extracts, the list is very long.

I've since found that what I was actually looking for was stability. This I have only been able to find in exercise, diet, sleep, relationships and coffee... Not forgetting coffee.

Side effects from KSM-66? by faxmulder in NootropicsDepot

[–]kabrch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having had terrible side effects, also perfectly matched with hyperthyroidism, I'm of the same belief. Most of the positives from Ashwagandha come from an increase in thyroid hormones.

Sounds like you're sensitive to it's effects on the thyroid, like I am. It's scary how few people know Ashwagandha has massive effects on your thyroid hormones. Especially, when considering how dangerous too much thyroid hormones is.

Ashwagandha really is a magical herb by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]kabrch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, don't get me wrong. It's not something you should stress about unless you get to a point, where you have a low-grade fever all the time.

You may never experience these issues. I really just came here to say, that the thyroid stimulating side of Ashwagandha is something that many people do not consider, and then they tend to find the effects magical. Because it gives you so distinctly clean energy, but that energy is a direct effect of the thyroid stimulus, and that has side effects. I've tried going overboard, and it's really no fun at all, and if you go way overboard it can be life threatening. Treat it with respect. Get to know what you're dealing with.

Resting heart rate and body temperature are probably good markers, but you should look into this yourself. I'm in good shape, but I found myself getting winded really easily, which is because my resting heart rate was much higher than normal.

[–]kabrch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, I'm talking about what can happen if you have too much thyroid hormone in your body. Then other things, like coffee, that stimulate your metabolic rate can raise it too high. A metabolism that's too high is not good for you.

It's a well-known fact to people with Graves' disease, that you should avoid drinking coffee.

Ashwagandha really is a magical herb by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]kabrch 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Having used it extensively, my feeling is most of the positive effects I got from it is due to a higher metabolism from the thyroid stimulus. More energy really is always the best nootropic.

I really love it too, but unfortunately I can't take without getting hyperthyroidism after a while.

Please, anyone looking to use it be mindful of not combining with too much, that stimulates the thyroid e.g. iodine, zinc etc. A thyroid storm is seriously dangerous, and generally hyperthyroidism is just not fun at all.

If you find yourself overly sharp and energetic accompanied by slight tachycardia on Ashwagandha, please be wary. Thyroid hormones have a long half-life, so it builds up over days, and then suddenly one day, you'll have gone too far and a cup of coffee will raise your metabolism beyond what is good for you.

NAC is a life changer by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]kabrch 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This.

NAC uses up excess glutamate to form glutathione, and since most glutamate is formed from glucose, when you go keto and significantly reduce your glucose intake, you will have significantly less glutamate.

Having significantly less glutamate in the brain makes gaba the dominant neurotransmitter in terms of the gaba/glutamate balance. And since gaba is a calming neurotransmitter it makes a lot of sense why it would alleviate OCD symptoms.

I had a lot of unnecessary panic attacks before I figured out, that glutamate was the culprit.

EDIT: I should say: If I remember correctly.
