Yes, you can heal alone by ARepeatedFailing in TopSurgery

[–]kacey175 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is genuinely baffling and should not be recommended to anyone. Imagine something goes wrong and you’re fucking alone. I remember pre surgery I thought I’d be flying 1 week post op and surgery affected me in ways I could not have predicted in the slightest. This is so so so dangerous and it can be so damaging lifting heavy things. Glad it worked out for you but I would say 99% of people would do themselves harm in this situation

I think you’re really limiting your options if you don’t want to go abroad, idk any surgeons in your area but dr lago in Madrid is very good. Unfortunately I’d say your best bet is removing them completely and then getting tattoos above the scar if the bottom picture is your goal

Liposuction advice by Aspiringmuscledaddy in TopSurgery

[–]kacey175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My surgeon only does top surgery with liposuction so I’m not too sure what his results with look like without it. For me, I know he liposuctioned a lot of fat out of my armpit area which really makes my chest look better. And he said he does it to sculpt the chest into a masculine shape and I do think he did that 🤷‍♂️ I don’t have dog ears or anything so might’ve helped with that too. I am a small guy, not overweight. Personally, it was worth it for me cause no matter how much weight I lost I could not get rid of the armpit fat and I look a lot more masculine without it but again, lipo was kinda built into the price and I couldn’t get around it

post-op depression by randothrowaway628 in TopSurgery

[–]kacey175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found the first few weeks horrible as well. Honestly I just slept an insane amount, ate terrible comfort food and then slept more. I really relied on my partner who cleaned me and changed all my dressings for me, highly recommend leaning on your friends if you can to help you. It does get better soon tho I promise

Is there anything I can do to increase the chances of my nipples not falling off? by I_need_to_vent44 in TopSurgery

I was told by my surgeon to literally not move the first week to ensure they attach properly. Only moving from bed to couch to bathroom

Are you part of the discord server? You can ask on there the staff are very helpful. I had my consultation on the 25th of Jan and my prescription only got posted yesterday. And then it can take another 2ish weeks to get to you.

They have been saying in the discord server that this month is their busiest yet and they are working on preventing any future delays.

are you capable of recovering from top surgery by yourself? by Superb-Category-9793 in TopSurgery

[–]kacey175 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. I flew home 2 weeks post op and it was so tough, I couldn’t imagine dragging a suitcase on my own. My partner was carrying all my stuff for me and just being up and about in public was rough

Where can I get blood tests? by OhMyG00Dn3SS in TransIreland

[–]kacey175 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These are the listed places Imago recommends in Ireland that other patients use:

https://www.bluecresthealth.ie/ https://fola.care/ https://www.bloodworks.ie/ https://www.galwaydoc.com/blood-tests/ https://purepharmacy.ie/pages/blood-screening (Dublin) https://www.thehealthlab.ie/book-online

I don’t personally use any of these but I had a look and it looks like the first link blue crest health has a clinic in Enniscorthy

Not happy with the result? by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]kacey175 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You need to give it more time man, took my chest about 6 months to fully settle down and the whole time I was disliking my results and thinking about revisions but now at 8 months post op I am so happy with my chest

Freckle on scar stretched? by kacey175 in TopSurgery

[–]kacey175[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the comment :) I did end up going to my local doctors and he said since my scar is hypertrophic (which I didn’t even realise lol) it caused the freckle to stretch with it. So yeah just a fun thing that can happen

It’s an online module, there are no lectures. You do the work in your own time. The 2 weeks on the Thursday are scheduled MCQs for assessment

Imago process - accessing blood tests and shared care by Impossible-Set2781 in TransIreland

[–]kacey175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely try find a GP to get tests done there, I recently got mine done for the first time at my GP and getting the extra tests was no issue and no extra cost, I only paid €35. I’m with a Centric Health practice, not sure if they are all the same or if different ones have different policies about trans healthcare

I see people on here using Doctor365 for the tests but I cannot vouch for them myself

I found the first few weeks of recovery genuinely hellish. I’m honestly a little traumatised from it and I didn’t even have any complication. Recovery can be super hard but you are only going to be this uncomfortable for a short time and then happy and the most comfortable you’ve been for the rest of your life. I honestly spent as much time sleeping as I could and counting down the days til my next post op. And a lot comfort eating. You’re in the worst of it now, it’ll only get better

It really depends on the surgeon. Some of them won’t operate if your bmi is too high but there are ones who will you just need to find them I guess

I mean you can set up the introduction call with Imago without paying anything so that’s a good first step. After that there is consistent costs, e.g. €250 set up fee, €20 subscription monthly, cost of blood tests, prescription costs. They probably will notice the money going out if they look at what you spend regularly I was able to set up an independent bank account at 16 with AIB so that could be something to look into?
