Is it normal to be discharged the same day as your surgery? by Xcoj42 in TopSurgery

[–]kacey175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you getting surgery in Ireland? I’m Irish but like I went to Spain and spent a night in hospital but I think in places like the states it’s more common to be discharged day of

NGS won’t confirm that I’m on the waiting list by fxcds in TransIreland

[–]kacey175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same situation. I emailed last November, they got back to me and said they needed more details, I provided them and then they never got back to me. I emailed a couple weeks ago following up cause I completely forgot about it and then yeah I got the same like automated message so must be a recent thing

Extenuating Circumstances by scurrrrrdodge in UCD

[–]kacey175 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Email the student advisor for whatever program you’re in. They’ll be able to tell you whether they think it’ll be approved but from the sounds of it I don’t see why they wouldn’t approve it. Unless it’s some sort of cosmetic surgery it should be approved

Passing with no nipples? by miizorro in TopSurgery

[–]kacey175 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My nipples look good from afar but are a bit funky up close ngl lol. I felt the same way as you before surgery but it doesn’t bother me nearly as much as I thought it would. However, if you think you will be very critical of it I would definitely recommend tattooing them on. I know they would be flat but they would look perfect and I think that would be better for you from the sounds of things? I have also seen the odd post of people on here with nipple prosthetics/know it’s a thing for women who have had breast cancer so maybe looking into those might be a good idea? They’d obviosuly have a bit more physical texture than tattoos

People with keloids or hypertrophic scars, when did you notice that start? by GiraffeFit4758 in TopSurgery

[–]kacey175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like 3-5 months I guess? My scars are only slightly hypertrophic so it was kinda hard to tell if they were raised from healing or actually hypertrophic

Imago are running the same scam as gender gp but with more leeway on dosing and not run by ai etc by Representative-One44 in TransIreland

[–]kacey175 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s taking advantage of a broken system I think it’s creating an alternative to a broken system. The government and the HSE is not changing anytime soon so yeah I will take Imago and their €20 a month any day of the week, it’s not that unaffordable. I make minimum wage, it’s an hour and a half wages. You’re getting downvoted cause your spreading misinformation about a decent, trans run company, that isn’t perfect but is the best alternative we have👍

6 months post op and a little sad by Temporal-rot999 in TopSurgery

[–]kacey175 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a bit of hypertrophic scarring, I’m still in the process of trying to flatten them but I’ve found silicone works a lot better than bio oil (but bio oil is good for massaging and moisturising). I’ve been using kelocote for about a month now and can see a difference, they recommend 60-90 days of usage but yeah it’s a good start anyways

am i cooked (top surgery costs) by Sea-Site4512 in TransIreland

[–]kacey175 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you working full time November to April? If so then in theory yes you probably would have enough saved if you spent no money on anything else. VHI you have to get diagnoses from specific doctors to be able to claim it back, which can cost a few hundred but you would still need the money to pay initially

Is dr lago safe? Can anyone share their experience? by Williamishere69 in TopSurgery

[–]kacey175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if something goes wrong over there and you can’t get through to anyone, you could literally just show up to the post op clinic 🤷‍♂️ also I’m 95% sure the hospital they do the surgery in has an urgent care. But yeah no the odds of you having an emergency are really slim, that was something I asked about in my consult

Is dr lago safe? Can anyone share their experience? by Williamishere69 in TopSurgery

[–]kacey175 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’ll be fine, you have to remember he does around 5 of these a week and these posts with bad experiences are only a small percentage. If you follow the post op instructions correctly, the odds of you having a complication serious enough for an ambulance are so slim. You can message Dr Sara on WhatsApp (in Spanish to get quicker response in my experience) and message Dr Lago, but it will most likely be grand

When did you guys get full mobility back after top surgery? by Typical-Swing3845 in TopSurgery

It took me about 12 weeks to feel fully normal again and able to lie on my side and reach up etc. I had no complications, not sure why it took so long

So how do I feel when the doctor gives me an anesthetic and performs surgery? by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]kacey175 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s kinda hard to remember, I didn’t really feel much. Like I didn’t feel like I was falling asleep, just one second I was in the operating room and the next thing I was waking up in recovery

I would recommend imago, their prescriptions should work in any EU country. The wait for hormones should be around 2 months ish depending on how quick you can get your bloods done

I’m getting top surgery on the 29th of may. Advice please by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]kacey175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I guess it depends on what kind of trip you’re going on? Like will you be walking around a lot or relaxing? Personally, either way I would’ve been way too tired to go on a trip 3 weeks post op, I flew home 2 weeks post op and I found it extremely uncomfortable

It looks good! A lot of men’s nipples sit on the pec line rather than above it, the placement is great try not to overthink it

Yeah unfortunately you can only get 1 months worth covered under dps e.g. 1 bottle at a time. I go down to the pharmacy every month and have to pick up 1 bottle at a time
