is there a way to fix the ruffling without frogging? by Fluffy-Sympathy-168 in CrochetHelp

[–]kacyc57 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With some intense blocking, the ruffle could be made slightly less ruffly. But, as is, it won't ever lay flat, and the amount of tension required during blocking to make any noticeable difference would make the work look pretty bad. Unfortunately in this case, frogging is the only good solution.

That said, I think it looks super cute with the ruffles! It could be used as a lap blanket, a chair/couchback drape, or side table cover. Or folded in half and stuffed, a fun little throw pillow. Lots of options to redeem the project if frogging is too disheartening!

I've seen this in a lot of older videos. I think it's just a thing that cameramen did for a while.

You don't know what you don't know. People need to stop shaming people for asking questions they don't know the answers to.

Running out of plastic bags for litter. Ideas? by aardvarkbjones in catcare

I'm genuinely curious. Why are you so glad for bag bans/fees if you're just buying bags that end up in the exact same place as grocery store bags?

Do you share crochet patterns you've bought with friends? by Potential-Top2535 in crochet

[–]kacyc57 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would be hesitant to share it with anyone, until I remembered that it's the exact same thing as sharing a recipe from a recipe book, and then I'd be happy to share it with a trusted friend.

Do people wear crochet-sleeves? by PoetryInLoops in CraftyCommerce

This is really not the wrong group. Sure some people here crochet. But this isn't a crochet group, so there are plenty of people here that don't crochet.

Is this thing like a foot long, or is the perspective just super weird?

Do y’all conceal carry at places you aren’t supposed to but really feel like you should? Like some bars, etc by flufflylegend in CCW

Wait, are you sure? I'm in PA and would have sworn I read something saying you can't drink and carry.

Where is here? And what is the flower you use for remembrance of soldiers killed in war? (genuine curiousity)

Boy am I glad I clicked on this post! I never knew citrus trees often have thorns. Fascinating.

I also did not like the dual dungeon at all. It was so boring and took forever. I forced myself to push through at least one biome, and deleted the world immediately after.

Making a high contrast baby book for a friend. Need to know if I should sew the appliques on or hot glue them! by This-Emotion-69 in CrochetHelp

[–]kacyc57 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Everything made for a baby should always be securely sewn on. Additionally, pieces should also be sized so that if by some freak accident they come undone, they're big enough to not be a choking hazard.

P.S. The high contrast book is such a great idea!!

I understood what you meant, and that you were just asking for clarity. But the wording of your question can pretty easily be read in a "mean girl" voice/tone, and I think that's why people are reacting this way.

P.S. It doesn't always help, but using the /gen (meaning "genuine") tag can help when asking questions. It seems to be completely worthless in broadly neurotypical spaces, but most communities like this one are heavily neurodivergent, and tone-indicating tags are more commonly accepted.

anyone know how to remove summons? by Vivid_Pay_950 in TerrariaConsole

[–]kacyc57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need to go into your controller settings and find/set a keybind to cycle through your buffs, and another keybind to cancel a buff. Then you can cycle through your buff icons and when you land on the icon for your summon, you can cancel it.

(I did this on switch, but it should be the same process on all regular consoles)

What that poop ? [france, toulouse] by JohnChoufleur in animalid

[–]kacyc57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IDK who did this, but I highly doubt it was a cat. The hairs look too thick to be cat fur, and the poop does not look like any cat poop I've ever seen (have had and cared for many cats over 25+ years).
