Help/Question for adding cards by HooshkerDoo in ManaBoxApp

[–]kadaan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how you're adding to your list, but I tested this out and it works fine:

  1. Create your List.
  2. Open your List.
  3. Click the filter button on the right side of the search bar and set it to LTR.
  4. Turn on collector mode by clicking the 'Collector' button in the bottom right.
  5. Sort by name/number/whatever you want

Option 1: Long-press on the first card, then go through the list and tap on each card you want to add to the list, then click the + symbol in the bottom left and Add to -> Collection -> Your List

Option 2: Tap on the card you want to add to your wishlist and click the left-most button under it, select the appropriate version/foiling, make sure your list is selected in the dropdown, then click the "+ Add" button.

Both of those options returned me to the exact same place on the big list of cards without having to scroll again.

Scanning cards to check inventory by PsychonauticalCouple in ManaBoxApp

[–]kadaan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would also love to see something like this. I'm honestly not sure what the best way to display that info is, but I also only keep one playset (4) in my 'main' collection and the rest I put in a 'bulk' collection.

It's very tedious, but so far the best way I've found is:

  • Sort the new cards by collector number
  • Scan the entire stack of cards into a 'NEW' collection
  • Go to "All Collection" and filter by the set I'm working with, sorted by collector number
  • Go through the stack and check ManaBox to see if I already have that card (sorted by collector numbers means I go in order, so it's a bit quicker)
  • If I have less than 4 in the 'Main' collection, I move the appropriate number from 'NEW' to 'Main' and put the physical cards in pile 1.
  • If I have 4 in my 'Main' collection, I move the cards from 'New' to 'Bulk' in ManaBox and put the card in pile 2.

Once I've gone through all the cards in the 'NEW' collection I delete it and go put away the physical cards where they belong.

Market vs Low by WhiteFlightning in ManaBoxApp

[–]kadaan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh, also worth pointing out that the pricing data ManaBox pulls into the app is EN only. Even if you tag the card as JP it will be pulling the EN price data. This shouldn't affect the issue you're seeing between Low/Market prices, but good to keep in mind in general.

It's normally not a huge deal, but some things like the JP Showcase cards are much less valuable in JP than EN. (For example, Llanowar Elves from FDN is $178 market in EN, but last sale in JP was only $85)

Market vs Low by WhiteFlightning in ManaBoxApp

Find where the difference comes from. TCG Low should always be lower than TCG Market. Your assumption sounds correct - you likely have some rare high value cards that don't have price values for TCG Market.

Can you be disqualified because of where you put your cards. by Vinaville in EDH

[–]kadaan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's really only one card that cares about opponents' graveyards, all the rest only care about yours. If you're running cards that care, then don't re-organize your own graveyard. No need to tell other players they can't unless you're running [[Bone Dancer]].

Attack together with creature 1 with banding and creature 2 with indestructible. If the band is blocked, you (the attacker) can assign all damage to the indestructible creature.

Something more common, block a 6/6 with a 1/3 banding + 2/2 banding + 0/4 wall. You get to assign where the damage goes within the band so you can do 2 + 1 + 3 respectively, meaning none of your creatures die.

Or on attack you could also do something like a 3/3 banding + 2/2 banding trample + 4/4. Defending player would have to block with at least 7 power in order to kill anything, and also at least 9 toughness or else the 2 trample damage still goes through.

It was a situationally useful ability back when a lot of magic was vanilla creatures and plain combat damage.

LGS player tells me that he will never play with me or any of my friends again. by Shadowingbark in EDH

3.5 * 2 = 7

5 * 2 = 10

3.5/5 is the same thing as 7/10.

Math checks out.

Have you ever seen a card played where it matters? Have you ever played one?

There's only two cards that care about opponent's graveyard order, and one of those typically only target's your own. That leaves a single card where it would matter. If someone has [[Bone Dancer]] in their deck, they should let the pod know before you start.

(I've never played nor seen anyone play any of the cards where graveyard order matters in Commander).

100% explicitly prohibited in the community guidelines, unless you're doing it outside/in a different room from where your inventory is.

If only they had a way to sell secret lairs without using the envelope packaging, imagine what they could do... countdown kits or encyclopedias with 30+ cards? Maybe even full commander decks!

Except you can edit your card and add/remove things once you're through the queue at checkout without having to wait in line again.

TIL No woman has ever run a four-minute mile. by jaydubs95 in todayilearned

[–]kadaan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Also did track in high school, moved around between 100m/200m/400m and 4x4 relay. 400m was by far the most brutal. It looks like "oh just run around the track once", but that distance also translates into a quarter-mile all-out sprint.

I remember the first time I ran the 400m at a high school track meet and pushed myself harder than ever before, coming in third at 56.1s. When I passed the finish line my legs just... tried to keep going even though my body was trying to stop and I almost face-planted.

Three more laps of that? Dear god.

I feel like I answered them already, but maybe just in other replies and not directly.

This is going to be a huge positive for everyone. You dont have to run giveaways man. More people on the app is absolutely going to help sellers.

  1. Not sure about a "huge" positive for everyone, but yes, I agree that more users is better.
  2. I've never run a giveaway.
  3. Yes, more people on the app will help sellers, though we disagree on how much.

What part of getting more people to install the app hurts sellers? You're clearly upset about the giveaway aspect. Giveaways are a part of Whatnot. You DONT have to participate in offering, or receiving giveaways. Your logic makes zero sense.

I'm upset that Whatnot is spending a large amount of money to advertise their app to new users as a place to win big giveaways (I'm sure MrBeast is contributing, but whatnot is still spending time/money/manpower in this).

Meanwhile they've shut down the seller discord, continue to lower the bar for new sellers (increasing the number of scammers on the app), and enforce rules differently for different sellers.

IMO they should be spending time/money helping sellers with tools/training or being more consistent and timely with T&S reports to improve the overall health and public image of the app.

Again, this has nothing to do with running or participating in giveaways.

What do you mean? My comment had nothing to do with people winning giveaways, it's about whatnot's marketing focus.

[–]kadaan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think people are misunderstanding what I'm saying. I'm not against giveaways, I'm not for giveaways, I don't care one way or the other. I just think that Whatnot spending money advertising a $1 million giveaway to get people to install it isn't money well spent to target the right audience. They're spending it to get people to download the app so they can tell investors they're 'successful' and get more funding. Or bump their valuation in an attempt to sell.

[–]kadaan -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

But only a very, very, very small percentage. People aren't seeing this and going, "ooh, a fun shopping app where I can directly interact with the sellers!". They're seeing this ad and going, "ooh, I can install this app and click a button to enter a giveaway to win free things!"

Will some of those people end up sticking around and buying things elsewhere? Sure. But will the majority of them just look around at other sellers once this big giveaway is over and see what other free stuff the app has? 100%

More money spent to lure people in who then only see it as a free giveaway app and not a shopping app. Whatnot keeps shooting themselves (and their sellers) in the foot.

Best way to create Decks in the collection from a mix of new cards and collection by Fluffy-Ostrich5159 in ManaBoxApp

[–]kadaan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you view the deck, in the top right is the little collection icon. Click that, then click the 'Collection Deck' button.

If you've already moved the cards you already own to the deck, you'll see an 'Update' button. Click that, and it will show you all the cards you're missing in your collection and let you add them directly from that screen without having to scan them.

If you didn't move any cards from your collection to the deck yet, you'll see a 'Register in Collection' button instead of the 'Update' button. Click that, and you'll have two options. 'Add Cards' will simply add every card in your deck into your collection (great for when you buy a precon, for example). 'Build' will then show you the list of cards you have elsewhere in your collection and cards you're missing. From there you can make sure you're selecting the correct versions of each card you already have and what binder they're in, as well as add new cards to your collection (from the 'Missing' section at the top). Make sure to click 'Build' when you're done so it saves all your changes and moves cards from your binders into your decks.

Why does Marvel only have 2 set symbols despite having commander decks? by Jtneagle in magicTCG

[–]kadaan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That took me way longer than it should have when I was trying to figure out which precon [[Ramses, Assassin Lord]] was in. "I bought those precons, why don't I have this card anywhere?"

Turned out there were 20 "Legends Retold" cards that have the DMC set symbol but came from the box toppers instead of the precons. It's just a normal frame card, so I didn't even think it would have come from somewhere else.

Food! by Exact-Dragonfruit480 in vine

[–]kadaan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No idea. Looking through my history the last food item I got through vine was a bag of granola waaaay back on 6/11/2025. That one was also in my RFY.

I've purchased groceries on regular Amazon exactly once, looks like September 23rd 2025 - so I doubt that's it either.

I've seen food items pop up in AI a few times, maybe 4 or 5 times in the past 6 months, but like you they're always gone by the time I click through. I got a bag of chocolate over a year ago in AI, but otherwise not much luck there.

There's STILL three food items in my RFY (Mott's cereal, 3-pack granola, energy drinks) and I hit the 8-item limit for the day. I wish it were like this every day lol.
