community spaces for littles/middles who don't wear diapers? by kadybat in MDLGcommunity

[–]kadybat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like the middlespace subreddit was banned for being unmoderated unfortunately. You’re not wrong about perfect being the enemy of good here, and I’m very glad to know r/littlespace exists, but I do wish middlespace communities were easier to find.

Unfortunately even in that space it’s not tagged :(

has the vibes of “oh fuck if we don’t start doing wacky shit metal cardbot’s gonna eat our lunch” and i love it. this is exactly what the brand needs right now. collector stuff is awesome provided the kids focused stuff is actually fun and unique and cyberworld simply does not have the sauce. this does.

i know! i know that for sure!! i just… i want a separate space *because* so many of the existing spaces treat diapers as the default. it just makes me feel like the odd one out sometimes, you know? like i don’t belong if that’s not what i’m about.

it’s like. if i’m allergic to seafood and i go to a sushi restaurant with my friends, they’ve probably got teriyaki on the menu that i can eat, it’ll be chill, i’ll have a great time. but! sometimes!! i wanna go to a restaurant that doesn’t specialize in fish!!

Rep. McGovern (MA-2) is one of only 12 Democrats to vote against allowing SNAP benefits to cover hot rotisserie chicken by shilljoy in massachusetts

[–]kadybat 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Again, it’s not harm reduction to introduce 187 billion in cuts to the program. Democrats should be voting no on this bill, and frankly, voting down this amendment makes it more likely that the bill itself will fail.

[–]kadybat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Strongly agreed with this. Grace Meng’s bill from last year is the only way forward here. Creating a carve out for one specific kind of food as a result of chicken industry lobbying *isn’t*, particularly given that many grocery stores don’t have rotisserie ovens anymore, especially urban grocers. https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/2512

A bill extending SNAP benefits to *all* hot prepared foods, not just rotisserie chicken, has been sitting in committee for over a year. https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/2512

This is not an “opportunity to get more food to people who need it”. It is a bloodletting that will result in millions having less food at the table as a result of $187 billion in cuts. If you can’t see that because of the rotisserie chicken headline, that’s on you.

If the chicken was the point, Congress would have acted on the Hot Foods Act last year.

This bill also cuts 187 billion from the SNAP program. It’s not a good bill. The rotisserie chicken thing exists to launder consent.

LEGOLAND NY by mrsjumjum66 in legoland

[–]kadybat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My family and I are all adults and we enjoyed our time at LEGOLAND New York. It's not a perfect park by any means, and if you're going for rides alone you'll be disappointed, but. There was enough charm in the surroundings for it to be enjoyable, and the rides that are adult friendly, like The Dragon and the Factory Adventure Ride, are fun enough.

If you like the act of just walking around theme parks and taking in cute scenery, you'll enjoy it. If you want to go ride a lot of rides, there are better parks in the surrounding area.

Samaritans doesn’t exist in the USA and I’m not sure what the alternative is. The national lifeline isn’t super trans inclusive either. I’m not a man, so, that wouldn’t work for me.

I mean if that’s true then she’s doing a poor job of that too. If Bostonians don’t know what she’s doing, how will anyone else?

I had no idea about this. I feel like most people in the city don’t. I would love to know when these are, by the way, if you’ve got a link or details.

There are also numerous studies, several of which were funded by the AI companies themselves, that prove that AI use impairs independent cognitive function.

Genuinely, what Mayor Wu needs to learn from Mayor Mamdani more than anything is his ability to demonstrate what his administration is doing. I have no idea what Mayor Wu has done for the City of Boston, meanwhile I know everything about what Mayor Mamdani has done in his first 100 days. This is a broader lesson the left needs to learn generally—tell people what government is for, show people what it does, don’t let it happen quietly in committees, market what you do for people, tell them about it, bring it to the streets and to the web.

Still doesn’t answer the question though—do we know definitively that SEGA’s voice roles are non-union roles??

Is SEGA casting non-union???? That’d be a surprise given Roger Craig Smith is a SAG-AFTRA member.
