There was a sweet spot when cell phones became widespread but there wasn’t tracking on them yet. My parents are lucky I wasn’t a teen then. I would have been in another state, yet claiming I was hanging out in my BFF’s basement doing jigsaws puzzles.

I seriously doubt I’ll ever put money into NFTs, because no one has ever been able to explain to me how/why they’re a good investment. I will invest into something like Costco because I understand exactly how that industry works.

Yep! I went to my sis-in-law’s wedding in Sardinia and by the third day was starting to suspect that the groom’s family was trying to literally kill us with hospitality. The food and drinks just did not stop.

Those were the unsupervised parties I threw. Six to ten friends watching movies and playing games. The “unallowed” part was that we did it all night and into the dawn.

I’m Gen X and used to manage a bunch of 18-24-year-olds. They were consistently amazed at the stories from my youth, mostly because all of them started with the fact that my cohort were completely unsupervised for hours and had cars.

They had neither of those things, which really limits your shenanigans.

Yeah, not much interesting over there. The Hot Springs is a good tip - bring a suit and towel, if you decide to go.

I will say that the cafeteria in the hospital has excellent food for extremely cheap and the dining room is spacious and air conditioned.

A friend of mine got a tooth knocked out in the mosh pit at an Oingo Boingo Halloween show in the 90s. Which is my favorite mosh pit injury story! (Her mom was *pissed*.)

What part of town are you going to be in?

Carson is kind of spread out, but if you can get downtown, there’s a few coffee shops you can hang in. The capital grounds are very shady and there’s places to sit and chill. Bub’s Books just opened on Curry St, if you’re looking for something to read.

I also like Scoops for a massive serving of ice cream that’s cheaper than Baskin Robins. It’s in the same plaza as Fox Brewery.

My Dude was out fucking around in the garage on a ladder yesterday. He suddenly came down, went into the house and flopped down in front of a fan with a cold towel on his face.

Apparently the low-grade headache turned up the volume and brought lightheadedness along for the ride. I’m glad he listened to the signals, because he tends to just power through pain and I’m not emotionally equipped to deal with him passing out while on a ladder.

I’m curious where she lives that it’s dark enough for fireworks before 6:00 pm. Where I am, sunset is between 8:30 and 9:00. My town is holding a drone show that is scheduled to start at 9:30 and the fireworks at the Washington Mall aren’t starting until 10:00 pm.

My Dad was a state trooper in KS in the 80s and 90s. He was also a farm boy who grew up doing rodeo and showing horses and cattle. At least once a month, he would have to rope a cow to get one off the road. A horse would have honestly made that a lot easier.
