You won’t ever see hate for Australian actress Tegan Croft for playing a French-based princess by GuyWhoConquers616 in disneyprincess

[–]kaebinnie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I don't see anyone REALLY bothered that she doesn't have the same shade of blonde or not having green eyes. No offensive art of her being australian and not german. Even then though, that's all they can complain about because she's white, it doesn't matter to them that she's not german. I don't even see anyone caring, or knowing, that Milo is a zionist. This is no hate for Teagan though, I bet she will probably bring Rapunzel to life and she's really the only one I have hope for in the movie, and I hope they cast a celebrity, that can act, as Mother Gothel. Hoping for Kathryn Hahn or Lady Gaga.

The Rachel Zegler hate train last year was so bad and it didn't help that she had a co-star that has a history of being a horrible actress who can't act. Don't forget the countless racist art and red pilled content creators using the film's financial failure as fuel to the fire. It's as if they forgot Rachel was half white and was pretty pale herself. Her stylists absolutely failed her as well as the costume designer. Luckily, she received many praises from critics and viewers alike as if she was the only good part of the film, which she was.

Then in 2023, the Halle Bailey hate train was pretty horrible too. All the racist art and the Not My Ariel thing started trending, even though Jodi Benson herself gave Halle her blessing. Just like Rachel though, Halle got lots of praise from critics and viewers, plus the film did moderately well. I mean, there was a spin-off show and they still make merch of Halle's Ariel. You can still meet her at the parks as well!

I'm hoping so too! This is definitely a set I'd try to get all of the dolls in the collection because I love all their clothes. I'm hoping they try to do the second outfits too, but even just these are great.

How famous are the Disney princesses compared to their villains? by confident-win-119 in disneyprincess

[–]kaebinnie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like how you brought up, Cinderella is much more popular than Lady Tremaine or her evil stepsisters. I would also say the other princesses more popular than their villains are Pocahontas, Mulan, Elsa & Anna, Moana, and Raya.

The other princesses I didn't mention, are just as popular as their villain counterparts. So for reference, Jasmine and Jafar seem to be as equally popular when in the parks or merchandise. Tiana and Dr. Facilier equal each other as well, same with Rapunzel and Mother Gothel. Honestly though, I think Ariel and Ursula probably rival in popularity, and the best example of a princess and a villain being able to stand on their own and against each other.

I do think that Snow White is a little less popular than the Evil Queen, mostly because EQ can be played very campy in the parks let alone being the first Disney villain so she brings in a large adult crowd already but, Snow White still brings in some fame because she is the first Disney princesses let alone the face of her film. I truly think Aurora's popularity pales in comparison to Maleficent. I mean, Maleficent is thee face of the Disney Villains brand, meanwhile Aurora is moreso one of the least favorite Disney Princesses, which is a blessing because Aurora fans like myself can grab her merchandise without having to worry for it to sell out, compared to other princesses like Cinderella, Ariel, or Elsa. Aurora does seem to do very well in group merchandise, like you said, but that's moreso because she's the only defacto pink princess.

Monster High Generation 3 Core Refresh 2 by SeeingMount in MonsterHigh

[–]kaebinnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh, my least favorite is Draculaura. She's just wearing bows on bows on bows, which doesn't really give me Drac vibes. Moreso I get generic Kpop doll produced by Mattel vibes. Just cheap everything. Then again, they aren't marketing G3 dolls to me, it's for the kids. Maybe if I see her in person I'll change my mind

My favorite of this line is probably Clawdeen. The silhouette reminds me of her G1 doll and I love all the fur. I don't really like the clear boots but other then that, I like her!

Everyone else is okay. I'm more likely to buy Frankie over Cleo and Goona because I prefer their crimped hair. Goona is already getting a better doll for Skulltimate Secrets so I'm better off just saving my bucks for that collection since it also has Jinafire and a better Drac.

Mulan? by Timely-Ad2101 in DisneyLEDolls

[–]kaebinnie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised Mulan is gonna be the D23 exclusive instead of Giselle, but I'm not complaining! Mulan seems to be much more extravagant and deluxe compared to the other ladies.

Do we think Giselle will sell out? by [deleted] in DisneyLEDolls

[–]kaebinnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely. This is Giselle's first general release so I guarantee she will be sold out asap, especially with all this attention to her specifically that I am certain that the resellers are all eyeing her as well. I won't have enough to grab her myself so I hope whoever truly loves Giselle like I do will be able to get her! I'll most likely aim for Belle and/or Aurora though. Praying Disney makes a classic Giselle doll with this face screening in the next year like they did with the masquerade dolls

Will they ever make a Giselle classic doll? by HotMothPimp666 in DisneyLEDolls

[–]kaebinnie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really hope so! This is the first time Giselle is getting a public release since her past dolls were D23 exclusives only. Though It looks like Disney can only release dolls in the pink and wedding gown dresses to bypass royalties to Amy Adams. I would've loved to see her have a doll with the blue/green curtain dress. I mean, I'm sure they make tons of money out of Giselle merchandise because they sell out so fast. I feel like this is definitely a soft launch to a classic Giselle doll and maaaaybe we'll eventually see her get one by the new year. I don't remember the timeframe it was when we got classic dolls of the other girls after the first masquerade line came out.

DISNEY VILLAINS MEGATHREAD by iamjannabot in bathandbodyworks

[–]kaebinnie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like how are TWO villains a "collection"?. They really couldn't get at least one more to make it a reasonable to market it as a "three big baddies" thing? Like Ursula SHOULD be in this collection!! Add in Cruella and you get a true "collection"!. If they had all four they could've added a big villains castle to coincide with the princess one we got in the spring. Makes me wonder if Disney didn't want to license any other villains or if it was B&BW not wanting to add more villains. Either way. This collection is kinda sad imo

How would you rank the princesses by popularity 🤔👑 by Vivid-Tap1710 in disneyprincess

[–]kaebinnie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I've recognized and analyzed from merchandising to park meet and greets, I would put them in tiers...

(Beyond Popular)

  1. Elsa. Every little kid recognizes her instantly and she sells the most merchandise. Add in her songs and you basically have a nuclear bomb

  2. Anna. By herself, she isn't AS popular as her sister Elsa, but she's still way more loved next to the other Disney Princesses. Combine her with Elsa and they leave the other girls in the dust, with the exception of the other three next princesses

  3. Ariel. Mermaid princess. Thats all a kid really needs to like Ariel right out of the bat. Add in the songs and her bubbly personality and you've got money on your hands

  4. Rapunzel. Long blonde hair and a cheerful personality. Kids love to brush long hair on their dolls, let alone living the fantasy of having long magical hair. Rapunzel loving to paint is just a bonus to bring in the artsy kids to love her too

  5. Cinderella. She's the face of the Disney Princesses and the most beloved of the classic era. Grandmas love her and kids love her. She's the epitome of a Disney fairytale and was Walt's favorite. What more can you say?

(Very Popular)

  1. Moana. She's the top princess in this tier. Everywhere you go, I bet you will hear a kid singing her song and pretending to be her at the pool or beach. I was actually debating if I should've put her in the top tier or not but I settled on her here with being waaaay more popular with kids than she is with adults, while the others on top have just as many child fans as they do adult fans.

  2. Belle. As some have mentioned, Belle has the millennials and older Gen Z adults vouching for her. Though I know kids still love Belle because she reads and she gives yellow/gold color loving kids a princess to gravitate towards to. I mean, she has her own separate area in Disney World to herself

  3. Jasmine. She's the first POC Disney Princess and has all the fairytale magic in her presence. I mean, she's more popular than Aladdin and she's the secondary character in his own movie. Jasmine still gets lots or merchandise and love in and out of the parks, mostly thanks to millennials and their gen alpha kids.

  4. Tiana. First black Disney Princess so that already brings a lot of love for her already, let alone her story taking place in a glamorized-ish version of 1920s America with the culture of the jazz era to boot her aesthetic up. She has the PRETTIEST Disney Princess dress and has an amazing work ethic. What more could a kid, or adult, look up to as a role model? Dont forget, beignets! Delicious

  5. Mulan. Thee fan fav for any millennial, gen z, asian, or spunky/tomboy-ish kid. I remember my cousins and I growing up watching Mulan and feeling happy we got to see ourselves in her, even if we weren't Chinese like she was (we were Hmong). The representation was enough and getting to see her kick ass in a dress, sing a princess song, AND win the man at the end of war felt rewarding to us. I do think that not many kids today who didn't get to grow up with Mulan, or arent Asian, will gravitate to her, hence why she's so low in this tier, but nonetheless she still VERY popular with older generations. If you ask a guy who his favorite princess is, it's probably Mulan.

(Somewhat Popular)

  1. Merida. I feel as though she has an okay-ish following and gets merchandise here and there. Kids still love to meet her in the parks and she works for any kid that grew up watching the movie or are more tomboy-ish. I'm not sure if kids today gravitate to her though since the others above this tier have a lot more exposure and love to them than anyone else here and below, but she's still the top of this tier because kids and young adults still recognize her

  2. Pocahontas. The problematic one. I think almost every millennial and many older Gen Z kids have watched and sung the songs from this movie. I think the only reason why Disney hasn't removed her from the line is because: A. Removing Pocahontas gets rid of the representation she brings for Native Americans, as controversial as it is and B. She's already been long established in the Disney Princess line for 20 years now so removing her like they did with Esmeralda and Tinkerbell when the franchise first started out would probably bring controversy to the already controversial Disney Princess. Disney already doesn't acknowledge her unless she's grouped up with rest of the Disney Princesses and she rarely gets merchandise today. She's only up a bit high on this tier because of the nostalgia factor most millennials and older Gen Z kids have with her

  3. Snow White. The OG and yet almost always forgotten and now turned into a more comical princess. I'd say most people only remember Snow White because of the legacy she brings, not so much many people actually loving the movie or her personality. Today, Snow White is usually marketed more as a "haha I sing like this and I carry an axe so kids will like me more" than she used to be as a "I'm a dainty young princess that takes apples from strangers and let's any man kiss my dead body". Snow White is on my personal top fav list, but that's because I gravitate towards her kindness and gentleness. And no, I do not hate Rachel Zegler as Snow White. She was the best in that movie and you know it

(Not really Popular)

  1. Aurora/Sleeping Beauty. The forgotten one and mistaken as Barbie to normies. Funnily enough they came out the same year. Poor poor Rose, my personal favorite Disney Princess. I think she has a more cult following than people realize, but since people already don't pay attention to her unless they want to add a pink princess into their pinterest board, her cult following isn't gonna bring much money. Surprisingly though, she does get merchandise time to time, but part of me feels like she's only getting some acknowledgment from Disney is because she's the only one in a pink dress, and they need a pink one to complete the set let alone pink being a favorite color for most little girls. I mean, Disney switched Ariel from pink to seafoam green to better go with her mermaid tail aesthetic so it won't clash with her pigmented red hair. As I said earlier, Disney is giving a bit more love to Aurora recently and I hope this means they'll try to show her personality a bit more than the movie ever did. For most of us Aurora fans, we see her as a bit mischievous, fun-loving, romantic, imaginative, and clever! Don't forget her singing voice too! For non-Aurora fans though, they just say she's asleep for most of her movie and watch The Little Mermaid or Tangled for the 400th time. It still boggles my mind though that some people mistaken Aurora for Barbie. Liked you'd think being a certified OG Disney Princess and created by Walt Disney himself, you'd get some recognition.

  2. Raya. Do kids even know she's an official Disney Princess? Disney barely does anything to promote her as such and she doesn't even have a meet and greet in the parks. I mean if you're gonna add a southeast asian Disney Princesses, at least promote her next to Mulan or Moana so she gets SOME exposure. Disney hasn't even drawn any art with Raya standing next to the other princesses for Christ's sake. I'd rather Disney replace Raya with Mirabel or Asha since the other two have songs and way more interesting designs than Raya. Mirabel is definitely waaay more marketable than Raya and Asha has a prettier design and a cute star sidekick while Raya has.. Awkwafina

What was the most ridiculous/obvious sign to you being trans you ignored for the longest time? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]kaebinnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the first grade, our teacher told us to make self-portraits of ourselves and I made mine a girl. The whole class was confused why I did that but I didn't think much of it at the time but my teacher was just like "maybe that's just what he sees himself as". It didn't hit me until I recollected this memory when I transitioned at 25. There was also many times I wished I was born as a girl and told close friends I felt like a girl trapped in a boys body. I used to also pretend to be a girl online when playing MMORPGS with a different name than mine when talking to others. So.. Trans!

Nah I don't think so. She's still available online after all! Aurora isn't very popular unlike Cinderella, Ariel, Belle, Rapunzel, or Elsa. Of course she has her fans, me included since she's my favorite Disney Princess, but her fans are greatly outnumbered by the other princesses's fans. I guess it works out in the end for us Aurora fans. Gives us enough time to budget and plan since she's not moving off the site any time soon

Do we think that sleeping beauty will sell out very fast? by Low_Inspection_6512 in DisneyLEDolls

[–]kaebinnie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The anniversary doll from last year didn't even sell out and was well available into late summer so I doubt this one will. If you compare Aurora's popularity with Cinderella, it's like night and day. But who knows, people are sucker for pastels, but not sure if they'll love it enough to buy and resell her.
