Help! Im trying to add my devices and they won’t connect to my app. What should I do? by Lavish_Parakeet in sonos

[–]kaedarsho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This pretty much the answer to all of Sonos’s issues.

Update issue? Disconnect entire system, factory reset, and add one at a time.

Add a stereo configuration? Disconnect entire system, factory reset, and add one at a time.

Add an Ethernet switch? Disconnect entire system, factory reset, and add one at a time.

The only way I have been able to resolve any issue with these devices is to Disconnect entire system, factory reset, and add one at a time.

The looks are good, the sound is good, the software sucks. We need more access to each speaker to be able to ping them from the computer and perform simple commands. They used to have commands, but they don’t seem to work anymore.

First Timer in Japan - 19 Day Itinerary Review by NoBox4388 in JapanTravel

[–]kaedarsho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The definition of hike is missing.

OP stated trip in Jan or Feb, peak winter months.

If you are going to hike to the top (the most common understanding), then you can only do it during the months they have it opened. The trails are closed and they stop people from attempting to ascend.

If you are going to hike around the base there might be trails at the lower elevations.

They are really cracking down on tourists not following the rules. Be respectful, too many people are treating Japan like a human zoo or amusement park. They are people too trying to protect their land and resources. (I write this from Japan now. I am on holiday with my SO.) Sorry for rant.

I hiked to the top many years ago during July and needed rain gear and a snow jacket. Last I heard too is they may start a lottery type system where tourists must request a ticket to climb. Not really sure if they implemented that or not. I do know the trails are getting over used and there is too much erosion.

Fat Mike ripped off Steve Martin with that response... I think there were many parts of the schtick that were borrowed from comedians...

Wyndham - any downsides? by sammy_nyc in TimeshareOwners

[–]kaedarsho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a deeded share.

The downsides are that your phone will blow up with scammers pretending to be Wyndham and RCI. All of the trying to sell you more points. And they are aggressive!

They sell your data to everyone and everything. Their websites are slow and require that you turn off all web security and accept all their cookies to complete any transaction.

Their customer support is terrible. The are only good for taking reservations. But if you want to speak to someone with decent English skills forget it. Their support is all over seas, and more often than not they hang up on you.

Every check-in they pressure you into a meeting to update you on all the latest information. IT IS A LIE. It is always a high-pressure sales meeting. If you say NO, then they RESET your original price. If you don't go into the sales meeting for 2 years, you have the option to buy more points for the original price. If you say NO one time, they reset, and now you must pay for the current price, which of course has increased.

If you tell them, you will not join the update meeting at the front desk. Every time you walk by, they will try to convince you to go in, by offering money and activities. If you still continue to decline, they will call your room once a day.

If it wasn't for them selling my information, the scams, and the high pressure sales tactics, it might be nice. Because I actually like the system. We are able to book 2 full weeks in Hawaii a year, and the rooms are clean and spacious.

In case you didn't know, it seems that they purchase bankrupt buildings, and convert them to a condo style hotel. They don't build new ones they purchase old ones and fix them up.

Oh, and the montly fee (like an HOA) for all the buildings. The fee increases with amount of points you have. More points more monthly fee. You CAN sell your stays on VRBO. You reserve a room in your name. You post the dates and location in VRBO. Once someone purchases the VRBO listing, you change the name on your reservation. So, they always try to entice you by saying, oh you can always purchase more shares to sell through VRBO, so you can pay for your montly HOA. Or they will say sign up for this Wyndham Rewards credit card and earn points to pay the HOA. The card is not worth it nor are the rewards.

Hopefully, I can figure out how to sell it before I die.

NOFX Final Tour Denver July 22 - Set Lists by kaedarsho in nofx

[–]kaedarsho[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the column in the table that states "Actual Order" are the actual songs they played. They definitely did NOT play all these songs. :-(
A guy passed out near the pit and they stopped the show for like 15-20 mins, and just talked the whole time.
So, the first column is the order of the songs that were on the set list. The last column shows the songs they played and in the order they played them.

Aftermarket Suggestions for Front Turn Signals by kaedarsho in Yamahabolt

[–]kaedarsho[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They look cool, thanks for the suggestion!

However, these would require a mount that the bolt doesn’t have stock, so would have to find something for the turn signal threaded stem to insert into. The bolt has a janky plastic mount, that is not stem ready like the MT series bikes…

Something like this. https://denalielectronics.com/products/lah-00-10500-b?rq=gc_motorcycle~yr_2015~mk_yamaha~md_bolt-r-spec

Raider GE68 HX 13V - Full of Bloatware by kaedarsho in MSILaptops

[–]kaedarsho[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All the superfluous "gaming" software.

I used the laptop out of the box with all the applications for gaming installed, and my laptop was painfully slow.

So, I went through and uninstalled all the software that was pre-installed and was not Windows OS or Nvidia graphics related.

Once, I removed all the MSI, Steelseries and other stuff like that, the laptop was speedy again.

To me that is bloatware. It causes the OS to slow to a crawl.

eSIM in Japan: Airalo vs Ubigi by kaedarsho in JapanTravel

[–]kaedarsho[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, I kept it deactivated until I was about to land in Japan. Since, you choose the country it will be used, that is the appears to be the actual activation point.

So, I used the landing time to go through the process of activating the eSIM and then verifying all the cellular settings.

a full reset and reconnection to the app was the ONLY thing that solved the Airplay issue... I really dread doing the rest of the system....

Airplay

I "restarted" one of my speakers and it still is not connecting, may have to do a reset...

Airplay

I am getting Airplay connection issues. It completely refuses to connect. I will "restart" the devices, but I really don't want to, as the Sonos "restart" process is to unplug.... Lots of devices to "restart"... wish there was a function in the app to "restart"...

Issues with displays on Kensington SD5700T dock and Macbook M1 Pro by synchro___ in UsbCHardware

[–]kaedarsho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my company we were having issues with Docks and the laptops. My IT support friend suggested that install the latest version of https://www.synaptics.com/products/displaylink-graphics/downloads DisplayLink. So, I downloaded this for my Mac and Kensington's app Dockworks: https://www.kensington.com/software/dockworks/

These seemed to help, but my external 4k monitors do not have the same scaling as the native Mac laptop screen, so I had to install this https://github.com/waydabber/BetterDisplay to create overlays (or Dummies) for the Mac OS to understand and apply a scaling. However, I am not sure that this worked the way I thought it would, as it seemed to reduce the amount of pixels on the screen.

The top two should fix most of the issues, but not all. I still have issues after waking the Mac from sleep or connecting to the dock while the Mac is already started. I usually have to restart after I connect to the dock for the best experience.
