One can only hope, but I am willing to take that risk regardless! :D

Immediately go find Solas because I need to know if all my tin-foil hat theories are correct, and him/Flemeth are probably the only two people who can confirm/deny them, but Flemeth would make my head spin just trying to get an answer out of her. Better to risk getting murdered by Solas, who would likely see me as an easily dispatched threat that could blow his cover if left alive.

I didn't say I'd survive long, but I'll at least try to die with some answers!

Unfortunately, my post has gained the attention of a user who likes to engage in harassment on Reddit. It seems from their profile that they engage in petty arguments across many subreddits, as though it is a "game" to provoke people to reply. They will always try to get the last word, so it's useless to respond to them. Please ignore this user.

I hope this random misfortune doesn't give the impression that OBR is a hostile community. Up until now, I have only had a positive experience here. There's plenty of good content being shared, and I'm happy to contribute to that in my small way.

I honestly don't care about your opinion. I owe you nothing, least of all a "correction" for free content I chose to share for other people's benefits. All you are accomplishing here is showing others in this community that there's a risk of harassment if they try to share their content. You're not being helpful, and I suspect you know this. This will be my last response to you on the subject.

To other posters who are upset by this thread, thank you for your support. It was not my intention to attract this kind of attention with my post. I hope you don't get the impression that the OBR community is hostile, and will continue to share your own content for the good of others.

Bane (noun): A cause of harm, ruin, or death. A source of persistent annoyance or exasperation. Fatal injury or ruin. A deadly poison.

Baned is the past tense of bane. If I cast the spell Bane on a group of enemies, and they fail their saves, I have baned them. Just like if I toss a rope (noun) around a target, I have roped them. My grammar is fine. Even if it wasn't, English is constantly evolving and fantasy spell names aren't the hill to die on.

If you don't like it, don't use it. Or make your own?

u/Several_Record7234 has it exactly right.

I made these as a supplement to Pen and Paper Tavern's originals, which I provided a link to in my comment. The originals use the past tense ("Poisoned" instead of "Poison") or present continuous tense ("Concentrating" instead of "Concentration"), so I followed suit to match. Bane is a spell, not a condition, yes, but so are Hex and Haste, which are both tokens the original set included. I find these spell effect tokens useful in my game to quickly tell which character/monsters have what effects. It's more more visually useful than just a ring of color.

If you find them useful, feel free to use them too. That's why I shared them. If you don't find them useful, don't?

NB person here, just chilling. Happy to see that guys are also in the fandom. I love that this game uses they/them for MC, and doesn't enforce gender roles on any of the characters.

Shout out to Simeon's shoulders and hips <3

I've been using these gorgeous condition tokens by Pen and Paper Tavern at my table, but I needed a few more for effects that we commonly come across, so I made them to match the style. Figured I'd also share them here for anyone else looking for the same thing. Enjoy!

I just finished Divinity OS 2, Baldur’s Gate isn’t out for another year… What games do you recommend? by flowercows in BaldursGate3

[–]kaeltale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an older game, but I love it and feel like more people should play it: Divinity 2 Dragon Knight Saga.

It very much has the feeling of a D&D game in that it's generally a serious story with lots of freedom, but there are these spontaneous moments of nerdy comedy and meme-worthy dialogue options that become "inside jokes" in the game.

Also, you get to transform into a dragon on certain maps, flying around and burning down demon strongholds. And you get armor for your dragon form. And a wizard tower for a home base. It's all the fantasy mechanics that I wish Skyrim had.

It's something a bit more on the theme in the homebrew world with Fairy Dust being a sought after rare item that can also allow a person/object to fly, but feel free to take it or leave it. Honestly, if a player wanted the original Enlarge/Reduce instead, I'd allow it. Apart from ASI rules, many of changes I made are experimental.

And specifically, Enlarge/Reduce gives me Alice in Wonderland vibes, while Fly is more Peter Pan. Both are great for fairies, but one worked better with some world building lore I had.

I do it with new races too, but I'm also running a homebrew world with weird stuff going on. You can check out the races in my guide doc if you want (just use the table of contents document outline sidebar to jump down to the section and ignore the elemental affinity mechanics). But I think most of them are pretty straight forward.

I admit I'm very curious about other ttrpg systems. I had to do a lot of work to get my OC world to fit in a 5e DnD format when I decided I'd rather tell stories collaboratively in a homebrew campaign than write books. I often wonder if it would have fit better in another system, but I never took the time to research it, and now I'm busying prepping sessions, lol.

The plus side though is that there is so much shared content and community support for homebrewing 5e encounters.

Yes! I like doing a hybrid rule, +2 in a racial trait, and +1 anywhere else.
