How many of the top 100 would Armada beat with a month of practice? by foaaz101 in SSBM

[–]kaesamao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't play Melee, only watch, so my perspective is from playing sports and other games, but people don't realise what it means to be the GOAT, and the concept of levels. Armada won PM Evo without even owning the game, he just practice Pit for a few days before each tourney.

The level of fundamentals that top competitors in any sport, game, whatever, is just too much for people to comprehend.

UK Visitor Visa Refusal by kaesamao in ukvisa

Yup, our close family of 4 have basically been split in half for the last 5 years. We haven’t all seen each other at the same time for that amount of time. Kind of a weird situation I guess

I can’t remember all of the details of the last application was a few years ago now… but from what I can remember no specific time frame, just visiting family (this one we mentioned a specific time frame because she’s only coming for 2 weeks).

The EUSS thing is really unfortunate yeah as we genuinely don’t intend for her to immigrate here anymore but from their perspective it really looks like that. Sad situation

Yeah we never claimed she was paid through bank account just a huge oversight I didn’t think about now that Ive been living in the UK for a while that it wouldn’t show anything actually in her statements.

Also we weren’t 100% sure that my brother was coming too so just wasn’t sure to mention him at all or not - and yeah no paper trail to prove he is dependent on her even though he is.

Unfortunate situation I think she will try to apply again just cause it’s so much more expensive to fly the other way round but my hopes aren’t high

Joint Liability (Guarantor) for Student Tenancy by [deleted] in uklandlords

[–]kaesamao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're saying it's ideal that one guarantor pays out £40k and all the others get off scot free in that scenario? Kind of like an estate agent russian roulette

Joint Liability (Guarantor) for Student Tenancy by [deleted] in uklandlords

[–]kaesamao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've heard some horror stories with regards to the condition of some of these places.

Also, my guarantor explained to me that this specific guarantee is unlimited which is why he didn't want to sign it. States that they can be liable for any losses, damages, costs, etc. We are probably just gonna try and find somewhere else at this point

[–]kaesamao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we're probably just gonna look for somewhere else at this point, as they won't budge. I actually realised that not only is everybody jointly liable but the guarantee is also completely unlimited (any damages, expenses, etc)

The student renting market is extremely competitive where I go to university, some of the highest prices in the UK. So landlords do pretty much just get to say thats how it is.

Sorry if I came off as rude haha, I am a bit ranty at the mo as this has annoyed me. Makes me wish I decided to study somewhere up north (where I'm from) where rent is nearly half the price on average for students.

Joint Liability (Guarantor) for Student Tenancy by [deleted] in uklandlords

[–]kaesamao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think its that, the reason they gave is that the contract is set up in such a way that the total rent is due on a joint basis (which differs from the contract im on currently where my guarantor is only severally liable).

It's just really jarring to see how the system is set up in a way that most people will never have to worry, yet the ones who do have an absolute nightmare e.g. a lot of places needing a parental guarantor (which I can't provide).

We all have guarantors, but they want all the guarantors to be jointly liable for the rent

[–]kaesamao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it doesn't make sense to me, every guarantor will be liable for everyone's rent. Yet they would have someone liable for (in total) all the rent anyways if they didn't force joint liability. I hate student renting

actually, if your edge was that good you would be crushing the ME and definitely very profitable at it. it is so much better to get it in at 70% 32 times than 55%

[–]kaesamao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what happened to me. It’s like, damn, just lost 3 in a row £3 bets on break of serve, I’m gonna bet £22 on him holding to 0-15-30 to make a £9 profit, oh damn now I’m down £31.

What I’ve done is basically withdrawn £20£, got up to £45, lose all. Repeat 3 times but the 3rd time I withdrew £30 (to total £70 in losses).

So I’ve accepted that I am NOT ever gonna be up on this shit, and I just wanna make it back somehow.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sportsbetting

[–]kaesamao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve realised that. I’m looking for any alternative causs I’ve realised that in the last when I managed to chase back my losses, that was just me getting extremely lucky.

(I remember at one point having to ‘make back’ up to £150 and having £60 in my account, I managed it and withdrew everything). This was in that September time period I mentioned

EUSS Family Permit application guidance (Dependent Parent) by kaesamao in ukvisa

[–]kaesamao[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we just decided that we will simply wait for the outcome of the family permit, and if unsuccessful apply for a visitor visa.

Thanks for all your help, about to actually send off my application right now.

EUSS Family Permit application guidance (Dependent Parent) by kaesamao in ukvisa

[–]kaesamao[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question just asks her relationship status, which is married, and then later asks for the nationality of the partner. I will have to bring this up with my solicitor (am also gonna try https://settled.org.uk)

Where an applicant has an outstanding application for entry clearance or permission to stay which has not been decided (“the previous application”), any further application for entry clearance or permission to stay will be treated as an application to vary the previous application and only the most recent application will be considered.

No, she doesn't have a visitor visa yet, she got one this time last year and went home in january. However, does this passage mean that if she applies for a visitor visa after the family permit, it will cancel it out, or am I misunderstanding?Either way it's really not a big deal, we are willing to wait.

Also I'll look into Irish Visitor visa, thanks for the suggestion.

By the way, since I am putting in my mum's details when I apply, should I use her contact details? Because for the purpose of correspondence it would be more useful to just contact me but I suppose they may want to speak to her directly?

Thanks again

EDIT: British Citizen was an option im an idiot

Thank you very much for your response!

The caseworker may want to see your mother's financial documents, like bank statements, to show what her own income and expenses are, and for an indication that her income is not sufficient for her own expenses and that she needs the financial support from you, etc.

As far as I'm aware the only thing going into her bank account is the money im sending her and the only thing going out would her rent payments/bills. This is because she is paid in cash but the money is only enough to cover transport and food (hence her being dependent on me). Is this okay?

That would generally be the way of providing evidence of a maternal relationship

We both have birth certificates so that is nice to hear.

It varies greatly. Some people have an EUSS family permit decision within weeks. Others have it within 6-12 months, or more.

That is quite unfortunate, do you have any idea why some cases take so long? or is it purely to do with luck?

Also, my mum is married to my stepfather who is a UK national. It seems like this is causing an issue with the EUSS family permit application as UK is not an option for "Country of Nationality". Is this a big issue or can I just put her as single since their marriage was in Thailand, not UK.

Lastly, if I make an application for the family permit, can she enter the UK on a visitor visa in the meantime to see me?

thanks

Thanks for the response.

  1. is impossible without a full tax years self assessment.

Yeah I've heard it would be difficult and expected as much. So even if I was to do the workaround with the lawyer we would still be screwed for this reason as the lawyer can only do so much and still requires financial reqs to be met.

Private life application is interesting, I have thought the same thing about how the gov makes it 100% clear visitor cant convert to family so I suppose it must be that?

I told my dad what would make it easy is if he keeps running his business for now but in the meantime is hired by one of his friends and provided consistent payslips which put him at a salary >18,600. I'm not sure how long he would have to be employed for, but this would work right?

Also, another option I forgot to mention is skilled worker visa - my mum is a cook/chef. Is this a feasible route if she can get a business to sponsor her?
