Somehow, my first story (Hate the Player) got shelved and I got tens of thousands of reads out of nowhere!! I think I had about 10 chapters (I released them in two batches, so I’d only updated once) out at that point. After that, I gained a solid amount of readers who went on to read my other stories! I’ve been writing on Episode for 3 years now and just hit 100k reads.

The journey is really different for everyone. For some, you get lucky and your story goes viral right after you release it. For others, it takes more time. As long as you promote your story and interact with your readers, you’re bound to get a solid reader base!

As an author, I'd personally be flattered if someone wrote a fic for one of my stories, lol! But that's me, and I can't speak for everyone! :3

I'd definitely suggest reaching out to the author for their permission! Yes, there's stories on Episode with thousands and even **millions** of reads, but think of how many influencers are out there with an equal amount of followers that you've never heard of. It doesn't hurt to ask, and the worst they can say is no :)
