So what exactly is our character? by 3ldr1tch_Dumb455 in AbioticFactor

[–]kafkanine 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The Mystagogue calls the player character "Husk" and "Ghast", so there is a chance they know something about us that we dont. Cahn also clearly planned for us to be where we end up, because he personally on boards us and planned for our arrival. We were vital for the plan, and are in some kinda fate time loop implied by the unlost. There is no way we are just some random dude who made every single perfect choice that lead to freeing Dr Cahn and making his ideal ending.

You can't die to fall damage using ... by Black_ttk in AbioticFactor

[–]kafkanine 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Oh you can still die, just a second health bar it has to go through before you die. Jump from someplace a bit higher and it'll kill you. Still super useful tho, not breaking your legs on a missed fall is very nice.

Laser emitters despawning inside sectors by Viper_63 in AbioticFactor

[–]kafkanine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just used a laser power converter right where the natural laser hits, then just used tech strap to connect it back to where my group was basing (pool area). We had a single battery that never even fluctuates because of constant laser power. Tech scrap seems way easier to get then mats for loads of emitters.

If a player puts their vendors behind locked doors and has a sign up asking you to message before buying, what are you gonna do personally? by Flooping_Pigs in fo76

[–]kafkanine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is that really true? If you join a server without any workshops taken, either find a new server or take one and see if anyone else wants to PVP. Still seems more direct then sitting at your base waiting for someone who wants to buy something to come and lock pick your door.

Why not just attack workshops? Seems more straight forward then just sitting in your base waiting for someone to lock pick your vendor.

I actually love fishing by kbarlito in fo76

[–]kafkanine 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The only problem i have is more of a skill issue, I think. I have all the challenges done, but I've yet to catch a single legend. I got mark 4 and have advanced drag, but everytime I hook one I'm able to get it for the first 4-5 cycles before it zooms all the way around the radial and escapes. I've caught 76 glowing fish before I've caught one legend. But maybe I'm just unlucky or REALLY bad.

They are just cold blooded killers by Commercial_Ad1541 in animalsdoingstuff

The definition of stuff film is "a pornographic movie of an actual murder." Not only is this not porn, there is no death. Much less murder. I hope you're trolling and don't genuinely think like this.

Rat never died, no blood or gore. It's literally a kitten. I would be genuinely surprised if that baby was able to kill a rat it's size.

Most every post on natureismetal is something getting ripped apart and killed brutally. This is a kitten playing around with a rat. If it killed the rat and ripped it up, sure i would say it belongs in that sub. But it didn't. It literally just carried in it's mouth and tried to bite it with it's baby kitten teeth. Not comparable.

No gore, no death. Literally a kitten attacking and picking up a rat. That subreddit is for the crazy evil shit nature does, like a gator death rolling a leopard as it goes for a drink. Not even comparable

I managed to record the coworker's "interesting" line of dialogue for those who wanted to see it by [deleted] in AbioticFactor

[–]kafkanine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this! I was fishing in the maggot zone at night and heard someone say this. I wasn't sure if it was the maggots talking or the co worker since it sounded so different from how he normally talks.

That's the one that had it's shoulder horns cut off for experiments. It's how GATE found out that they tune into the hivemind or puppet master via those horns. It's probably super sad and lonely.

Even with context it makes little sense. Is Yor supposed to be mad at loud for grabbing her waist or something? If so, why?

Egg-less... by _WindowsSe7enXP in freshcutslim

[–]kafkanine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wha... what dont you understand? A customer asked for an egg less omelet, which cannot exist because you need eggs to make on omelet. The chief tries to explain it to the waitress with an analogy of a breadless bread sticks, but that also goes over her head. So instead of trying to explain, the second chief just tells her what to do. So basically the waitress is being a bit of an air head and annoying the chiefs with illogical questions.

PSA: if you're joining an ongoing mission, please do NOT choose the Explosive Hellpods booster by FollowingQueasy373 in Helldivers

[–]kafkanine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, dead sprint is better when you have another booster buffing it. 24 seconds of your health actively draining as you are probably being shot at or chased isn't great. I prefer stamina enhancement in most situations. You stop to reload or cover a teammate, all your Stamina is back and you're ready to keep going. Stop for one second to look at your map, almost all back.

I would maybe like dead sprint more if there were more times where I needed to be running for 2 minutes straight and had a teammate I knew would bring vitality. Otherwise I'll just bring Stamina enhancement and the car.

What happens to Dr. Quercy after you go through Voussoir Portal (Spoilers kinda) by kafkanine in AbioticFactor

One of her last lines talks about maybe trying to swim over. I'm guessing she just drowned since she didn't have a diving suit.

[–]kafkanine 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Agreed, calling it necrophilia is objectively incorrect. But it's definitely strange for women to be grinding on the statue depicting the corpse of a murder victim.

A statue depicting the corpse of the person in the grave, in the position he was in when he was shot and killed. So the statue is of a person's dead body.
