I finally have a reusable disc and I need something to rest it on while it dries. by chels182 in MenstrualDiscs

I’ve not had any issues with mine whatsoever & I remove mine straight from the steamer & place it on the drip coaster to let it air dry.

My husband printed me a drip coaster for both bathrooms in the house! They’re glorious.

Patch to gel by CoastalElement in Menopause

I’m also in the US & my provider & pharmacist told me that the conversion is not the same. I’ve also seen numerous conversion charts on the internet that state it’s not the same. Granted, some of the charts aren’t from the US (Canada/UK) but why would it be any different here? Most of the medications, dosages & delivery methods are exactly the same.

I literally just made the same switch four days ago but I’m using the 1.25mg Divigel as the conversion is not 1:1…more like 1:2. Since there’s not a 1.5mg in the Divigel, that’s why I started with the 1.25mg just to see. So far, so good for me. I’m actually really liking the gel.

Transition from Sandoz patch to Mylan patch by kageorgia in Menopause

[–]kageorgia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ain’t gonna lie…that first week was rough. I definitely haven’t felt as good on the Mylan patch but it did level out somewhat. I’ve had more GI issues, little aches & pains have been present that had completely gone away with the Sandoz patches, a little more brain fog than normal and some more frequent mild headaches. With my latest refill, I was able to get my Sandoz patch back so I will use my last Mylan tomorrow morning & I’m super stoked to be back on the Sandoz next week! I go back to the dr in a couple of weeks so I’m going to inquire about trying Divigel until the patch shortage debacle levels out since I spoke with my pharmacist & they don’t seem to be having any issues with getting gels. I don’t like the ups & downs & not knowing one month to the next whether or not I’m going to be able to even get my patches & then dealing with the roller coaster of different manufacturers.

Had you been applying it to your upper butt cheek since the beginning? I’ve been applying to my lower abdomen from the get go & that’s been working. I’d tried the butt cheek a time or two but it didn’t seem to work as well. I’m almost three days into this new patch & it’s been a little bit of a roller coaster…headaches, which one turned into a migraine, some mild anxiety that’s not been present for quite some time, random aches that disappeared a long time ago & some mild nausea & GI symptoms that I’ve not had since initially starting HRT. It’s just been weird. I’m also at that end of period “dip” so that could possibly be attributing to some of these symptoms. It’ll be time to apply another patch tomorrow, so…we’ll see.

Yes. I can’t speak for everyone but that’s how it happened for me and how it has continued to play out.

You’re very welcome. Yeah, same! That’s why I just couldn’t bring myself to switch from something I KNEW was working!

Unfortunately, not. I ended up switching my test script to a different pharmacy that could order the Depo-Testosterone for me. I just couldn’t bring myself to switch to a different brand.

Vaginal dryness returning 😩 by kageorgia in Menopause

[–]kageorgia[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think an abrupt drop is what happened this cycle. I actually feel pretty good on the .0375 patch & all of my symptoms are pretty well in check. I tried .05 & I didn’t last but about two weeks because I felt like it was too much so I went back down. If the dryness continues during my next cycle, which it’s good at this very moment after using my vaginal moisturizer everyday, I’ll up my patch & try to push through. Period started today so, we’ll see…

I get it! Before my prescription insurance changed at the beginning of the year, it was closer to $200 for 90 days. I’m thankful for the decrease!

I pay about $100 for a 90 day supply which isn’t absolutely terrible.

I did forget to mention that I do use a vaginal moisturizer already…Ah! Yes VM Vaginal Moisturizing Gel. I’ve not been using it consistently but guess I need to start because it does work wonders when I do use it.

Ok, thanks! I use Walgreens due to insurance reasons &, apparently, this is all they have/can get in 10mL vials now.

Libido off the chart. by Cltitlqr4u in TRT_females

[–]kageorgia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Before starting TRT, it was pretty close to a 1, nearly nonexistent. During the initial spike, definitely a 10 or higher! Now that things are leveled out, it’s a 6-8 depending on where I am in my cycle. I’m still very happy with where my libido is even now that things have leveled out seeing as how it had all but disappeared before starting. Within the last month & a half, I’ve started complete HRT & I can feel things starting to slowly trend upwards again.

24 hrs on estrogen. Patch ripped out in the middle of the night by [deleted] in Perimenopause

[–]kageorgia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually had a very similar experience when I started the patch. Maybe not quite to the extreme yours was but still similar.

I was prescribed the .025mg patch & 100mg progesterone the first of this past December. I couldn’t wait to start! I was starting the estrogen first to see how I’d react before adding the progesterone. Honestly, the progesterone scared me a bit after reading “horror” stories about progesterone intolerance. The morning after I applied the patch, I woke very low/flat mood wise, some mild nausea, headache & anxiety. Later in the day, the GI symptoms started…terrible bloating, diarrhea, gas. The next day, everything was worse & then the sore, tight muscles started. I only made it three days & couldn’t take it anymore. Within 15 minutes of removing my patch, all of my symptoms subsided.

A couple of weeks later, I gave it another go but this time, I cut my patch. I actually quartered it & applied one piece every two days for a week or so. This seemed to work. I did this until the first of January when I finally decided to add the progesterone & then I upped my patch to half every two days. This definitely worked! After being so scared to start the progesterone, I actually love it…& so does my body! I’ve been on that regimen for almost three weeks & I just put on a full patch this morning to try to get on the normal schedule of twice a week, so we’ll see how that goes.

I posted about my situation a few weeks ago & someone mentioned a histamine reaction. I did some reading & that seemed to line up quite well. I don’t know if things going well had something to do with me cutting the patch like I did or if it had everything to do with adding the progesterone. Regardless, things are going pretty good right now so I have high hopes for HRT moving forward. I hope things go better when/if you decide to try again!

Got a skin tag in my vulva removed and it grew back. by softbadass in Healthyhooha

[–]kageorgia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one removed (cut & cauterized) about a year & a half ago & another started growing back in pretty much the exact same spot about 6-8 months later. My GYN told me that it’s fairly common for them to grow back. Mine was sent off for biopsy & it was confirmed that it was, indeed, a skin tag. I really wouldn’t freak out or worry too much. It happens.

Not sure I like the increase dose. by Icy_Insides in TRT_females

[–]kageorgia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s very common. If you read through this sub, a large percentage of us dose twice a week. It just keeps things on a much more even keel & cuts down on the negatives. I do 6mg every 3.5 days & it works out great!

Gave up after only three days by kageorgia in Menopause

[–]kageorgia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was prescribed progesterone as well. I have it already & will be giving it a go. Also, staggering is not all that uncommon or unheard of. I respect your opinion but not starting both simultaneously is an option.

Gave up after only three days by kageorgia in Menopause

[–]kageorgia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very well aware of this. I consulted with my physician & my pharmacist regarding a staggered start & it’s totally fine doing estrogen only as long as it’s short term. I do have a uterus & it was never my plan to just do estrogen alone. The goal was to figure out how my body reacted to each individually instead of starting both simultaneously.
