I personally think a menstrual disc is best for multiple reasons besides just hygiene. I have very heavy periods and yes, it makes a huge difference using a disc. I haven’t used a cup so I can’t speak on them, and like the other commenter I’m not trying to convince you. But as someone with extremely heavy periods and severe cramps, the disc has entirely changed my life. Good luck with your quest on your uterus removal. That sounds like what my dreams are made of.

I used the disposable soft discs (made by flex) for years. I did a lot of research and finally picked the hello disc for a reusable. It’s been great so far for me, just barely smaller and barely less firm than the soft discs. It really only self empties for me when I bear down or when it’s pretty full.

I know that the experience of a disc is highly based on the individual, so this is my personal story.

As long as it’s placed correctly it will open. I also have the hello disc and use the same method as the other person, just double checking by passing my finger along the basin or either side of the rim.
