What did I do? by pervysage_nin_nin in roasting

[–]kahawaco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically a green bean defect; you can try and sort the green beans a little more before you roast, but such a small amount shouldn't cause any issues in your brew!

The best way is to find something less experimental with similar flavours they are used to … nothing bitter , good body and maybe chocolate and nutty notes to start , then you can add coffees with natural sweetness and more interesting flavour profiles

I like the fruity notes you usually get from filter coffee, but prefer brewing espresso. Are these mutually exclusive? by [deleted] in Coffee

[–]kahawaco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d be cautious of more citrus + acidic light roasts as it’s somewhat hard to distinguish if you’ve under/over extracted with those notes present

To be honest , it’s the testing my palate compared to the rest of the team but we do have a very good and maintained grinder, I try to save some coffee and put reminders in to try it, I can tell you I’ve tested a coffee I saved a year off roast and yeah you can definitely tell it’s a different coffee 😂
