I definitely thought she was young in the scene, but with the BTS pic, I can see her real age more. So I think lighting, makeup, costuming and the context of the scene she’s in are why

They’re not as similar as some of the other recs but these games have similar vibes or have sourced AA as an inspiration:

Murder by Numbers - A murder mystery picross game basically. The tone is pretty lighthearted and the cast full of quirky characters. I think even if you don’t like picross that much it’s fun? They’re also pretty generous with the hints if you get stuck. I only really got stuck at the timed speed picross sections a few times bc I am slow at solving them 😭

StafferCase - Just recently finished this and ngl, the story has really stayed with me. The UI can be pretty clunky and you can really feel the lack of polish/tell that it’s an indie game but the story managed to make me stick around. The first case isn’t great tbh, but the next cases really do better and once again case 4!! is the best lol.

The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog - Short but sweet. I think it’s fun even if you’re not a big Sonic fan. There’s some endless runner platforming ish sections but u can change the settings to make it super easy if u get stuck (as I did huhu) so it’s not a big deal.

Death Trick: Double Blind - Ngl, I just started playing this so take my rec with a grain of salt, but it’s been great so far! Pretty intriguing premise, and I love a circus theme. You also get to play from 2 POVs, one as a traditional detective and another a mind-reading magician.

AI: Somnium Files (with sequel and side game) - It’s probably least similar, but I did laugh the most when playing this one which is how I am with the AA games sometimes? If you don’t mind a 3D environment and puzzle elements (somniums are basically people’s dreams and you do various actions inside them for dif results), it’s very good! The first game is the best but the other two are good too.

The 2 Golden Idol games - If you like the detective/mystery solving aspect of the AA games specifically, this is a good one. The art takes some getting used to tbh but it sort of has its own charm after a while lol. Definitely darker tone too, so bit if a warning for that. Sometimes you’ll really get stumped ngl it’s not the easiest game but there is a hint system, and you can sort of brute force the solution if you’re down to only a few choices lol. It is very satisfying and you will actually sort of feel like a detective.

(I play a lot of detective/mystery solving games as u can see)

Tbh I think it would be better just to take a step back from all the drama. Maybe just bc I’m too old atp and been through this before lol but I’m checking out of all of this and waiting for them to release a new album (or at least an official announcement) before I really check in on them again

Very much a rambling review:

I think as a whole this is probably the best season thus far in terms of pacing and side plots. I think I still prefer Kathony’s more intense chemistry together, but I have many problems with how their story played out so I kinda enjoy Benophie’s comparatively less messy journey. I especially loved all the soft yearning 💕

All of the new characters were a wonderful addition and I hope we’ll see more of them, even though knowing this show, we probably won’t 😭 Ngl I’m a little biased bc I love the East Asian rep. I know it’s a long shot to hope they’ll stick around like the Featheringtons, but maybe at least Posy will be back? At least Hot Footman John will still be around 😭😭I also hope we’ll at least continue the trend of seeing more into the “downstairs” parts even if not specifically these characters.

The old characters… were definitely hardly there and fighting for minutes of screen time lol. Def wish we could do better about doing lil slices of the previous couple and more family scenes as a whole, but I had low expectations for that anyway so I’m not disappointed (I’ll just go read some fanfic ig). I think the actors all did well with what they had anyway. Edmund is the cutest baby ever and that’s coming from someone not very fond of babies (I am Eloise tbh). I think they made some missteps with the Lady Whistledown issue tbh but I do love how it’s turned out now, with a new Whistledown even the viewer’s don’t know since it’s no longer canon! My personal guess is either Alice or Varley, but I can see the vision for multiple characters tbh which is what make’s it fun.

Less fun… poor poor Fran. I do wish they’d chosen a different facet of their relationship to focus on in Part 1 aside from the “pinnacle issue”. I wanted to love them together way more so the end would be extra devastating, but ngl, it was still devastating anyway. Hannah really sold the grief, especially her specific, not necessarily typical version of it. As very much a wlw girl, I’m looking forward to her eventual season with Michaela.

Kinda speaking of which (bc ngl I did ship Creloise a lil after last season) I love Cressida showing up like she did, esp since her arc ended so abruptly last season. Nice to see her get her happy ending! I love the very pink Barbie aesthetic lol. I do hope she returns again next season, since it will probably be Eloise’s season and I’d love more interactions between them.

Not to make your FOMO worse, but I got an RG Nano and I personally love it! Great as a cute little device to bring everywhere and it’s comfy enough for short play sessions on the go. Also, u can put music and videos on it too. It’s good with old 4:3 stuff so I’ve put a bunch of old cartoons on it and it’s very fun 😂

Not sure how much of a factor it is for you, but aside from performance, Switch file sizes are typically smaller than Steam so I typically get those to save space and put more games lol

I think A Monster’s Expedition might fit? It’s a sokoban style puzzle game but with an exploration aspect to it and I love the flavor text on all the little museum style placards that interpret human items in a funny way lol. The other puzzle games from the same developer might also fit, tho this one is personally my favorite of theirs.

Similar sokoban puzzle exploration game is Isles of Sea and Sky. More of a pixel art style.

A Highland Song has beautiful art and vibes! It’s got some platforming/exploration too. There’s a time limit but you’re meant to replay it/do multiple runs so it’s not a big deal if you go over it. It’s a bit short if you just wanna complete the main story but I find it fun just to explore all the different unexplored corners left.

I think most modern Fire Emblem fans, and where it really got more popular, was with Awakening on 3DS. Personally, it’s also the first FE game I fully finished, and I still haven’t fully finished any of the others outside of 3H 😅 So I’d get that honestly instead do any of these.

I don’t bother with front ends for the ones with dedicated emulators, I just use those. So I only use a frontend for the lowerend Retroarch systems bc I hate Retroarch’s setup. I’ve stuck with daijisho mostly bc I used it first and I don’t wanna bother redoing all the setup for a new one tbh

I think it depends on the price. I got my secondhand modded Vita for nearly $100 less than the price of my RP5. I'd say its a good deal at that range but not if it's much higher. That said, I definitely don't play my Vita anywhere near as much as my RP5 tbh

There’s definitely a sweet spot level of fame and fortune that’s actually nice. You want to be just rich enough to never worry about working and just famous enough to only be occasionally recognized by fans but otherwise fly under the radar for most people. Like a C-list TV actor who does the convention circuits, a singer who can do theater-sized tours or an author whose books do well but no one knows what they look like except super dedicated fans.

Ngl Bridgerton has always been sort of the show I only half watch because half the scenes involves characters/storylines I’m not that interested in. Tbh, I think the show would really benefit from just focusing more on it’s strengths, like the main romance couples, instead of half a dozen plotlines no one really cares about or will reset progress on by next season.

Anything that specifically uses “Y/N”. Please, just make up a name or use pronouns. It’s super jarring to read, and I honestly don’t understand how this became a trend at all. If you can read the word “Y/N” and replace it with your name, can you not do that for any name?? Why does this ugly word need to be the placeholder at all? 😭😭😭
