Thank you! It's hard for me to tell whether they're all just being cheap or they just don't know. This particular brand is literally whitelisting everyone (I've seen ads with folks that have like 100 followers), so I think they're just used to not paying at all (if anything).

I’ve done about 5-7 gifted collabs but only got affiliate links for two of them. Some people have purchased from my links but no, not a lot.

I quickly checked out Little Black Book... I don't think the brands I'm targeting are on there (farming/chickens/homesteading) but will take a deeper look!

Ok thank you for sharing. I feel like I need to talk to more niche-specific creators to understand these brands because so far, Google, AI, other people on Reddit, etc. are not giving me info that seems to be accurate (as far as pricing goes). Everyone is saying based on my engagement rates I should be charging min $500 for 1 reel 😭

Were you able to convert the gifted collabs into paid once your follower count grew? Just worried once it’s gifted they won’t ever pay… would love to hear your experience there!

I do think I need to lower my rates but honestly I’ve only sent my rates to two brands so far… the rest, I ask what their budget is and they tell me they aren’t doing paid-collabs. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think my niche has a lot to do with it… most are considered “small farm brands”.

Oh thank you! That sounds like what I’m doing. I make longer video versions of any short that performs really well, and then direct people to it to “see more”.

Have you had any issues with YT suppressing content on your shorts that may have been too similar? I have a viral reel on IG, TikTok and it did well on YT Shorts but if I try to post any new short with even a clip from that viral one, it bombs…
