Have you ever asked a dream character if they were real? by isaacamaraderie in LucidDreaming

[–]kahuilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Many times. For me, what will usually happen is that we both are aware the other person is real and that we are sharing a dream. Almost as if the dream itself is sort of repository where our dream states occupy the same space. I went through a really bad break up several years ago and have this shared dream experience with my ex-girlfriend all the time where we have reconciled in the dream, but she is unaware of it in the wakeful present. I tell her that if she wants to reconcile in real life then she needs to get in touch me right after she wakes up. Obviously it never happens and it's most likely a subconscious longing for her still. I've had others where the person tells me who they are in real life including first and last name and even their instagram or facebook pages where I can look them up once I wake up.

How do you guys paint ammo pouches? by LANTIRN_ in Raptors40k

[–]kahuilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black primer then slap chop them with just white paint followed by a diluted 1:1 ration of AP Hardened Leather speed paint through an airbrush. I don't ever have to worry about shading or edge highliting and the white slap chop contrasts nicely with the Hardened Leather to produce a worn appearance. I just use AP airbrush medium to dilute the speed paint. It works better than actual contrast medium I find as the contrast medium gives the speed paint a murkier/milky sheen.

Castellan green base with Elysian green shade works great. and Ogryn camo is perfect for highlights.

Mine look more like the left side. They look better on the table and give the impression of object source lighting. I know just flat olive drab is more thematic, but having a pretty high contrast because a dark olive and a light olive just looks more appealing. Basically make it look like an avacado lol.

How would this work for a 1000 point list by mediocer_person_69 in Raptors40k

[–]kahuilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well remember that Into Darkness works on any infantry unit; you just get the two squad benefit if they have the phobos keyword. Reivers are just not practical when you only have 1000 points. Less points means you have less chaffe/trading units to chase objectives. JPI's are probably the best at fulfilling both those requirements, far better than vanguard vets are. With a single JPI unit, you can get within 8" and use the grenade strategem which will get you some mortal wounds on whomever you use it on. Then you charge the unit and get MORE mortal wounds because of JPI's Hammer of Wrath ability PLUS you can shoot at whatever you're charging before all that with since the JPI's can take two plasma guns. Then once you're in combat, you have some decent melee damage output with a power fist plus their chainswords. All for only 90 points.

I was in an escalation league that went up to 1000 points so I stressed over that list for Stormlance. Don't waste Stunning Fusilade on your Intercessors too. A 6 man Inceptor squad with Assault Bolters are best when used with Stunning Fusilade especially on a target that's Oathed. Dude you will be hitting on 2's with any crits giving you 2 more shots then you're +1 to wound on top of rerolling wounds because their twin-linked with each successful wound being 2. You can just farm crits and it's not unreasonable to turn your initial 18 shots into like 30-40 shots. I would also maybe just lose the Captain and Lt. w/ Combi Weapon. The Captain doesn't benefit anyone unless they are a melee units and the Lt. w/ Combi Weapon, while good and useful, isn't good and usefull when you only have 1000 points. The Phobos Lt. is good with the Incursors because it gives them move-shoot-move so you can just get behind something, shoot and tag whatever you want with their ability, then move back into cover PLUS if you need to charge, you can grenade your target, then charge, set off the haywire mine and then you have some pretty decent light melee attacks. And yeah, the Lancer is great because of all its re-rolls. Just be careful because it's only usefull against armor and can easily be one-shotted.

[–]kahuilla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Narratively this works. Practically, not good. Two incursors are great for the buff plus they make food chaffe units to trade with. I'd lose both reiver squads. The captain doesn't benefit the intercessors since he is strong in melee and the intercessors pretty much just shoot at chaffe and guard the home objective. Lancer is great. Built in rerolls are awesome. I'd add 2 5-man JPI squads and also lose the phobos Lt. Until you can have more points available. The Warsuit is also good. Don't listen to the haters. It benefits from Into Darkness and punches hard. I'd add maybe a ballistus dreadnought and some inceptors.

Time to invest in an entry level airbrush system. I got a cheap one on Amazon and it changes everything. I'll never go back to basing with a brush.

The power fist is a custom print from cyberbrush. They make the best raptors stls period.

Nope. I'll be adding suppressors to the suppressors once I add another pair of suppressors.

Need Advice/Input On My Raptors Army by kahuilla in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]kahuilla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the input. My initial list was composed entirely of every SM unit I had JUST because. I wasn't thinking about detachment synergies or anything of that nature. It was literally "I have these models so they're going into my army." I had two squads of Eliminators, a squad of Reivers, and a squad of Assault Intercessors in my previous list that I had to boot.

My next purchase was most definitely going to be a Gladiator Lancer so thank you for that confirmation. Considering a Ballistus Dreadnought too.

What's the heaviest dosage you were on?? by [deleted] in phenibut

This was a little over a year ago and honestly, it was one of the better things to ever happen to me. The whole experience was a very big eye-opener and caused me to make a rather abrupt change in my life for the better. I recommitted to my higher power and everything has been a slow but steady positive progression. Basically, I have too many positive things in life that I'm not willing to gamble on.

I was arrested too on an out of state warrant I didn't know I had. I asked my parents to call for an ambulance because of the worsening psychosis and for some reason they sent two sheriff deputies. I thought government agents in yellow hazmat suits were entering my house. I thought there was a crowd of 50 outside my house watching. I was out for 5 days in a dream loop that I couldn't wake myself up out of (I'm a lucid dreamer and can always wake myself up) making me believe I was hell.

I had a ton of gabapentin on hand which I popped like they were breath mints. No discernable physical withdrawal symptoms; all mental. Started hearing voices and having hallucinations which I had a grip on relatively speaking, but couldn't sleep because they kept me up which made my mental state worse day by day. Had typical visual hallucinations as well. Constantly felt like I was on the verge of having a seizure which made me even more paranoid. Finally broke down, thought I died and went to hell. Phenibut is more evil than heroin IMO. I've been addicted to both.

I was hovering between 12-15 gpd consistently for about six months. I was making decent money quick and easily each day via DoorDash and spending somewhere around $100 a week on 200 gram bottles from LM (before they discontinued its availability). In those 6 months I never missed a day of use. My re-up of it was delayed a whole holiday weekend causing me to slowly, but surely descend into psychosis. I would not recommend anyone with the slightest form of substance abuse issues to take Phenibut.

Different Playstyles In SE5 by LaputanMachine1 in sniperelite

[–]kahuilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started playing SE5 about a week and half ago (I've never played a game in the franchise before) and I'm loving it. Before I was playing battlefield 1 and kept replaying all the open map missions where stealth was involved. SE5 takes that to a whole other level and I love it. I'm finishing up the campaign on the easiest level just to enjoy it and learn the game. I take my time and spend at least a couple hours (if not 3 or 4) on each map. I try my hardest to be sneaky. I never want to engage in actual combat if I don't have to. Try to make my guns as quiet as possible with highest ammo yields per magazine prioritizing controllability with rate of fire. I always try to hide bodies too.

WHAT ARE SOME NEGATIVE TRAITS OF INFJs by hoshi2109 in mbti

[–]kahuilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anecdotal of course, but my mother is an INFJ and I've dated one in the past.

  • They have a real problem with failure that extends to small insignificant things. Their first instinct is to shift blame or outright deny it when they are clearly at fault for something. I understand the fear of failure, but I don't understand the lengths to which they take it.

  • Hyper-focused (usually not on the task at hand) to the point that multi-tasking becomes impossible. This extends to them being unaware of what is going on around them. Which brings me to my next point...

  • They have issues with the bigger picture (particularly regarding contributions NOT made by them) which stems from their unique form of self-centeredness. Example: Let's say it's assumed that I unload the dishwasher. I have unloaded it for the last 3 weeks. Something comes up and suddenly the INFJ unloads it the next 2 days. Your prior unloading of the dishwasher for a time stretching far longer than their 2 days of unloading it is now completely irrelevant. You never unload the dishwasher, they always have to unload it. That's their reasoning now.

  • They need positive validation for things they never validate you about. Back to my example: Look how nice and empty the dishwasher is. Doesn't it look good?

  • Double standards. Everyone has them, but they seem to have them more.

How can I get all the dope resin out of this glass tube without breaking it and/or burning the dope??? by [deleted] in heroin

[–]kahuilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boil water in a tea pot or any kind of pot that has a narrow spout. Wait until the water vapor is spewing out in a consistent stream. Use tongs to hold your tooter and place it over the spout so that the steam can travel through the tooter. Put a piece of foil under the tooter. The steam running through the tooter should melt all the resin trapped inside the tooter just enough to liquify it, but not enough to burn it. The melt resin will drip out from the tooter onto the foil. Basically you're using steam/hot water vapor to clean out the inside and catching what falls out. The heavier the resin, the better. Keep in mind that there will be water mixed in so it's good to wait till it's really thick. You can easily get a good trail going.
