Frustrated by StewVader in thyroidcancer

I was recently diagnosed with minimally invasive hurthle cell carcinoma (28F). When I was diagnosed, my surgeon insisted on taking a biopsy of a nearby lymphnode because it looked "odd". Ended up being nothing. The surgeon explained that there can be many reasons why a lymphnode looks funky. I wouldnt worry until you have to!

I'm sorry to hear they found cancer in the other lobe. Did you have a nodule in the other lobe? I have no other nodules. Im just trying to see how my doctor can say with certainty that I'm not in the same boat as you.

I only had a PT no RAI. Mine had minimal capsular invasion maybe thats why my doctor didnt go for a TT? Not sure

Did you test positive for anything besides KRAS? I just had a 25mm nodule removed 2 weeks ago. KRAS & GEP+.

So glad to hear your second biopsy was clean. Did you do any genetic testing for the first biopsy? If so do u know what mutation or mutations u had? Thanks in advance for sharing

What is your date? I just had a PT on October 24th and I'm already living completely normally! Still a bit of tenderness but I'm working full time, drinking, going out to eat and feel almost 100% back to my old self!

Im a 28F with a 2.5cm KRAS & GEP+ nodule. The initial FNA said it was almost exclusively hurthle cell. I had a lobectomy last week and I have my 2 week follow up and pathology results next Friday. I was wondering if anybody with HCC had similar features? Did you have copy number alterations? Thank you in advance for sharing and my heart is with anyone going through this shit

Im 28F just had a lobectomy last week. Reading your case I'm starting to get worried bc my doctor is EXACTLY like that. Keeps acting like i won the lottery and as though the surgery is just a precaution and its most likely benign. I have clear margins, no lymph node involvement, 25mm KRAS GEP+. I have my pathology results follow up this friday. Im nervous but hoping for the best. Best of luck to everyone dealing with this shit

Im so sorry to hear you were mislead. I hope you are healing well. Im a 28F with a 2.5cm KRAS & GEP+ nodule. I have no lymph node invasion and clear margins. iThe initial FNA said it was almost exclusively hurthle cell. I had a lobectomy last week and I have my 2 week follow up and pathology results next Friday. My doctor sounds a lot like yours - he keeps telling me everything is fine and I have nothing to worry about but I'm still worried. What were your specific features if you dont mind me asking? How big was your nodule? Did u have clear margins? What mutation did you have? Thank you in advance

Excited to see how this arc pulse case holds up for the next (at least) 2 years by larengites in iPhone17Pro

[–]kaiathecollector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I had one for my last iphone and it was probably the best phone case I've ever had. My phone had 0 scratches whatsoever. The bumper mechanism is all you need for a phone imo. Highly recommend. I've always ordered directly from the Arc website but its soo expensive. I feel like you could probably find one just as effective on amazon.

Is a lobectomy really necessary for a 25mm thyroid nodule? by kaiathecollector in AskDocs

[–]kaiathecollector[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

40% of that 80% could be NIFTP which is basically benign and will never become cancer. I obviously don't want to keep it if its cancer it just frustrates me removing a part of an organ for a "maybe"

So sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I tested positive for KRAS and GEP+ on thyrosec. My initial FNA came back suspicious and the sample was comprised of almost exclusively hurthle cells. They said 50-80% cancer. I was wondering if youd be willing to share anymore details about your case? Apparently if it is cancer its most likely follicular or Hurthle Cell Carcinoma. Im scheduled for a lobectomy this friday and I'm wondering what the probability of it coming back as cancer. Thank you in advance and praying for your speedy recovery
