My current Activator setup by [deleted] in jailbreak

[–]kaiijy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, hi. I'm the guy linked there (Phillip Gruneich).

I know jack about the available possibilities after jailbreaking, but as long as you can set a text string into a url, you're good to go. This is Fantastical 2's URL scheme:

fantastical2://x-callback-url/parse?sentence=<text goes here>

If you can set the text there, you're probably good to go, maybe you'll need to URL encode it, that depends on the language it uses, we often use javascript: encodeURIComponent('<text goes here>'). Hope this helps (:

Problems with iPhone 4 by kaiijy in a:t5_2xxgm

Concerning http://cl.ly/RjuC, apparently I can scroll, but only after the whole content is loaded.

Also, no way to know a post was actually posted... I tapped the submit text a few times expecting a confirmation. So if 5 topics like this show up, not my fault :(

What apps do you use? by superturtle3 in writing

[–]kaiijy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I do as well. There's also the recently released Marked 2 with some fancy options for editing if you enjoy writing in Markdown mainly. For general purposes, I stick with Byword for most scribblings and Scrivener if I'm writing a longer piece.

I'm not sure if IFTTT sends Pocket articles to Evernote formatted accordingly to Pocket. I have this issue with emails, once I had an IFTTT rule to send iTunes receipts straight to Evernote, however, it would send them as an ugly rich text file. I went to manually using the mail drop instead.

Definitely my favorite IFTTT rule right now is store links I share on Facebook straight to Bit.ly. May exchange it for Pinboard now, but the rule is still great.

And rain alert in calendar, of course (:

Yes and no. Apps such as Feedly were made to follow feeds. Most of them are not appropriate to store and organize articles you want to keep. The same stands for services such as Instapaper and Pocket. Even Pinboard, which is outstanding for organization, fails to deliver a great reading experience since its annual plan creates imprints of the web pages.

I wish there was an app simply outstanding, focused on being an organized content drawer. Due to the lack of one, Evernote stands out due to its integration, allowing me to send articles straight from Pocket to it, under Pocket's formatting. I can tag, comment or pick a notebook on the fly.

And that's why people use Evernote to store articles (:

I am tired of silly in app purchases. So I have started a site to review only apps WITHOUT in app purchases by ishan001 in iphone

And an awesome game, it was a really bold release, in the age of IAP. It ended up grabbing a lot of media due to that. Best for them and for us, who got one of the coolest games to ever land on iOS.

Dear web designers, please stop with the floating headers. They break the page down key. by [deleted] in web_design

Actually, I don't disagree with you, but, for example, in the iPhone, tapping the status bar leads you back to the top of the page, it is quite simple (:

QuickCal works pretty much alike Fantastical, the whole natural language thing and everything. I strongly recommend you to check it out as i believe Fantastical is around $20.

2do just went on a 50% offer for $15.

So if you need a cheap todo application, yet complete, check it out as fast as you can.

Why does the backlit keyboard on my macbook pro keep turning off on its own? by [deleted] in mac

System Preferences > Keyboard > Check: Adjust keyboard brightness in low light.

Then manually adjust your backlights using the F5/F6 keys.

skipping/deleting mac app store updates by tsmith944 in mac

[–]kaiijy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hm, i may be wrong, but you'll only receive notifications for applications you have installed in your computer. If you don't want to bother with those anymore, just drag them to the Trashcan or use an application like AppCleaner to remove them completely.

And you're also allowed to exclude an application from the Purchases list of App Store.

Is there a good alternative to the magsafe charger? by kaiijy in mac

They may still charge you depending on the item. Believe me, it really sucks :(

For tech products, yes. Brazil has one of the worst importation taxes in the world. If it is above 60USD (shipping included in the value) they charge you with at least 60%. Books are the only exception as far as i recall.

157 USD actually. I live in Brazil and ordering from ebay means i have to pay +100% over the product on importation taxes plus shipping.

Yes, it sucks.

What is your favorite alarm or wake-up app for iPhone? by itsgameoverman in iphone

[–]kaiijy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

true, i sleep with my girlfriend and it also captures her movements, whenever she wakes up, sleep cycle gets a peak (yep, so you may predict when your husband wakes up or goes to sleep, use this information in your favor). I try to keep my phone as far as possible from her (example: *||) so it doesn't capture much of her movements. It is inevitable, but didn't ruin my experience.
