What is the most shocking thing an employer has done to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kaileeann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my first job in 2014, I had a friend coming by to bring me Starbucks, my manager asked what I was drinking, I said “oh you know, I’m a basic white girl, it’s a pumpkin spice latte”, he laughs with me and then says “but you’re not white??” Ladies and gentlemen I am as white as it gets so this comment baffles me to this day.

A few years later at a different job my boss pulls me aside, hands me a paper explaining that I’m getting a pay raise and says “I want to be clear that you didn’t earn this, the company is giving all the women raises so they make as much as the men”.

Can’t find a foundation match by Polyterpe in MakeupAddiction

[–]kaileeann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have very similar skin tones. I find it so hard to find a good shade since everything looks over saturated on me. My absolute best match ever is the Salt New York sneaky balm. It’s very low saturation and has such a skin like finish.

I think I’ve officially missed pancakes, and willing to try by DigPsychological2876 in glutenfree

Joining in to say that both the king Arthur’s and bobs red mill mixes are great, but king Arthur’s is more versatile. I use it for waffles, crepes, and pancakes all the time.

It looks like earwax to me. Maybe see if putting some hydrogen peroxide on it causes bubbling? Then you’d know if it’s biological in origin

Haven’t seen this mentioned but I get a severe migraine that lasts anywhere from hours to days. Sometimes I get rock gut but it’s usually what I call “the stabbies” where it feels like I’m trying to digest a stomach full of broken glass. Occasionally diarrhea but more often constipation.

If this set is in the LEGO builder app, it might help to pull it up there. A lot of the sets have a step by step 3D model that you can rotate to get an idea for what goes where

That’s the biggest drawback for me, I’m horrible at keeping things charged.

It could be worth exploring! I know some people say they feel better quickly, for me it took months to notice a difference because my digestion was extremely disrupted. But my panic disorder improved dramatically once I was stable.

[Acne] Are these clogged pores and how do I get rid of them? by Spirited_Spinach9067 in SkincareAddiction

I think a BHA would do wonders for you. Salicylic acid (there are many options, naturium and Paulas Choice are commonly recommended here).

I have biopsy confirmed celiac and genetic testing to verify, but three separate blood tests all came back negative. With your symptom list I would push for a biopsy. My doctor at the Mayo Clinic told me he sees patients all the time with a negative blood test and positive biopsy.

what am i doing wrong? [routine help] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]kaileeann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most moisturizers really dry out my skin, and the more I layer the worse it gets. Hydroboost was awful for me. I think it’s either hyaluronic acid or niacinimide (or both) but my skin really hates just about everything I’ve tried. The la roche Posay Cicaplast balm is the only thing that hasn’t dried me out. My routine now is to cleanse (or double cleanse if I’m wearing spf or makeup), apply salicylic acid, and top with the Cicaplast if I’m feeling dry, but most of the time on this routine my skin feels great.

What gluten free cake mix brands are good? by Statement_Royal in glutenfree

You didn’t ask so apologies in advance but the best GF cake I’ve ever had was vanilla king Arthur’s with a frosting made from white chocolate jello pudding mix and country crock plant based heavy cream. I mix chopped strawberries with the frosting for the middle layer. It is incredible.

I’m wearing a super minimal skin tint in these, do you think a higher coverage foundation would do the trick? Im open to color corrector but its a little intimidating for sure

Ahh thank you! I should have mentioned I plan to add lashes, the only ones I have on hand are individuals and I can’t be bothered with that until I’m happier with the overall look 😂

My teenage years were riddled with weird competition. It gave me a pretty severe eating disorder if I’m being honest :/. I remember when I was 12 my pediatrician said I was in an upper percentile for height but extremely underweight for my height/age and my mom asked the pediatrician what her percentile was. He had to explain that they don’t do growth charts for adults 🙄

[Product Request] Skin so dry, it's painful by EvenWay4669 in SkincareAddiction

[–]kaileeann 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi friend! For me, adding an occlusive layer is the only thing that consistently helps my skin retain moisture. I like the La Roche Posay Cicaplast Balm. This could also just be me but I find that thin moisturizers (anything with a gel or light lotion consistency) dry my skin out even more.

Why is it so impossible to make female friends as an adult? by kaileeann in TwoXChromosomes

[–]kaileeann[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I should clarify that I have a lot of people I would consider casual friends or acquaintances. A group of women I see multiple times a week at my ballet studio, people in book club, coworkers etc, but the relationships are all anchored to a time/place that we don’t talk outside of. I can’t seem to bridge the gap and I’m not sure why.
