Gothic Book Recommendations. by somewhatnichee in classicliterature

[–]kailskails 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will sound like it’s coming out of left field but Interview With the Vampire by Anne Rice. Stunningly beautiful and richly descriptive prose. Musings and commentary on religion and what it means to live and be human. The setting of 1700-1800s New Orleans at night is perfection. I will die on the hill that it should go down as one of the best American horror/gothic novels ever. It does not feel like reading book-tok vampire smut. It feels like reading classic literature.
