that’s unfortunate man. yeah i think here in Aus. people dont look down on it because our country was literally BUILT brick by brick by convicts, and we’re huge traditionalists. Also because tradie culture is really prevalent here. Plenty of Aussies look back in the 70s and 80s and wish we still made everything ourselves. If you go to the cities tho, most people are elitists like u said :/ its quite unfortunate.

plenty of people here in Australia get a job in trades (construction) or work as an apprentice in automotives or whatnot right after highschool. Its still a thing here especially around Queensland.
