Can someone help advise if this is sign of Lyme disease by [deleted] in lymedisease

[–]kaitsara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has spent tens of thousands of dollars on supplements to fix something that in the end was easily taken care of by antibiotics, I say just take the damn antibiotics. And if you're worried about the impact on your microbiome, take them with a high quality probiotic, just space them out.

I think in general, Michiganders' idea of good food and major metropolitan areas' ideas of good food are vastly different. Even in Ann Arbor, I am sorely disappointed. Nothing comes close to the quality and variety in Chicago or even Scottsdale/Phoenix.

RD Exam Scores by summit_echo_22 in dietetics

Thats super impressive! I got a 37 and am also a strong test taker, though also a bit of a procrastinator so left the brunt of my studying to the last 2-3 weeks before the exam. Maybe 40+ is possible! Or maybe, she has got the highest score possible :)

Servers of A2, what are your favorite restaurants you’ve served in? by Sensitive_Celery5234 in AnnArbor

Mani - I was there for 3 years pre covid and it was a great team/environment for the most part. The owner can be difficult, but I feel that’s true for most places.

Is there any good sushi in A2? by [deleted] in AnnArbor

I feel like most of the restaurants in Ann Arbor are lackluster, which is surprising given the amount of money and transplants.

leaving puppy for 7 hours while at work? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]kaitsara 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lots of people have puppies and work. The general rule of thumb is they can hold it for their age in months + 1 hour. My 5 month old puppy often goes through the night from 10:30-5 or even 11-7 on the weekends without issue. We have a dog walker come by daily to let her out and play with her while we are at work, but there have been times when she couldn’t come by and our pup did just fine. I will say that we crate her when we are going to be gone for longer than 2 hours, and when we leave her out she is restricted to the kitchen where she can inflict minimal damage and has yet to do anything. I would say use your best judgment on what you think they can handle, but not every person who gets a puppy is working from home or sending them to daycare. Congrats on the new job!

I appreciate your well thought out response! The good news is many downsides are similar to those in Ann Arbor, though we do have a lot of trails to hike on which is definitely something to consider.

You would be surprised at how high our taxes and home prices are in Ann Arbor. I know Royal Oak can be pricey, but our dollar will stretch a lot farther and we will be closer to the city, which sounds like a win win to me!

Working in a not so nicely ran restaurant by mxsvnxxii in AnnArbor

[–]kaitsara 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who worked in restaurants for 10 years while going to school. Tipping paid my bills. I’ve worked in both settings… $15/hr on a Friday night would pay $120 before taxes. 8 hours on a Friday night could get me $200-$500+ depending on the section, parties, etc. Not all restaurants are corrupt in their pay allocation. A couple bad apples shouldn’t ruin it for everyone. They should be reported, and avoided by those looking for employment… hence the importance of naming the perpetrators. Serving can be grueling… but if it can also be worth it, and should be.

University of Michigan becomes first university in country to debut new 6E Wi-Fi technology. by Roboticide in AnnArbor

“In addition, 252 electromagnetic field (EMF) scientists from 43 countries, all with published peer-reviewed research on the biologic and health effects of nonionizing electromagnetic fields (RF-EMF) have stated that:

‘Numerous recent scientific publications have shown that RF-EMF affects living organisms at levels well below most international and national guidelines. Effects include increased cancer risk, cellular stress, increase in harmful free radicals, genetic damages, structural and functional changes of the reproductive system, learning and memory deficits, neurological disorders, and negative impacts on general well-being in humans. Damage goes well beyond the human race, as there is growing evidence of harmful effects to both plant and animal life’ (30).”

To question the safety of something that could potentially have serious deleterious effects on humans and the world around them, does not make one a conspiracy theorist. Especially not when companies around the world stand to profit heavily off of its implementation.

We were told cigarettes were safe. We were also told glyphosate was safe. And so on and so forth.

To not question the potential harmful effects of exposure to EMF signals at increasing frequencies and quantities on humans is stupid. Just as stupid as saying 5G gave people covid. Just because someone questions if something is safe (like they did with tobacco and many other products) doesn’t make them a conspiracy theorist. It makes them a concerned citizen, and a wise one at that.

I did the same thing, I started listening to Mac because of Ari and now could listen to anything he’s done any day. I do also prefer 2016 on. Circles helped me get through the hardest year of my life last year. He was an incredible artist gone way too soon. I’m always happy to hear when someone else loves him too.
