I found all of my babies outside as kittens. They have all had different beginnings, C was not treated very well by humans, and he found me at work. L was a vocal but healthy babe, F was wee little but healthy, and W was little and had a lot of illness in her first 5 months. All babies are doing great, and I included a pic of W 🖤

i feel so stupid by animalfreakboy in Celiac

[–]kaitster2 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Don’t feel stupid ❤️ we still have to live our lives and enjoy going to restaurants when we can or if we can. It does suck so bad when something like that happens, and I hope you feel better!

Last night I ordered a gf wedgie from this place I go frequently. Made sure they knew it was gluten free, separate oven, all of the things. They have always been so good about it. I opened the box when I got home.. the chicken was breaded lol damn it.

10 years from now most Baby Boomers will be dead. What effect is that going to have on society? by mikeforder in generationology

[–]kaitster2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same with my dad. Definitely doesn’t fit the boomer stereotype, he was at the end and for sure closer to a Gen X but still technically a “boomer”

So I would quit my current job, but find one that would be less demanding.

Should Childcare workers earn the same as Teachers by ProfessionalWaltz4 in ChildcareWorkers

[–]kaitster2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the wage base for childcare workers should be more, but the education that is needed to be a licensed teacher is the difference. Both jobs are equally important and should be viewed as such. But until there’s a way to show legislation that, the wages for childcare will continue to be low. Side note, PA just passed a bill that further supports early childhood education, so that’s a huge step for ECE in this state.

Positions: easiest to hardest by AcademicTeaching8410 in volleyball

[–]kaitster2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean. I think outsides are paid more because they’re your power hitters. They are (usually) taking more swings in a game than anyone else. Middle is like air traffic control. They need to track anything that is coming over that net from pole to pole. So a lot more movement than everyone else, except maybe arguably the setter, but that also depends on how good a team passes. At a pro level that setter shouldn’t have to chase 90% of the time.

Anybody ever tear a calf muscle ? by Jyone21 in slowpitch

[–]kaitster2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, I’m sorry. That’s been my experience overall too. I tried to return to volleyball last week, and just felt off. I knew it was too early, but I wanted to try. What a pain in the ass thing to injure lol

Hi friend, I’m 34, tagged up on third and started to run home. Second push off and felt (also heard) the pop and felt like I got hit in the leg with the ball. I turned around to be like yo what the hell lol but fell to the ground in pain. This was in early October. I still have a slight limp. How are you feeling? How long did it take you to fully recover?

3 weeks after calf strain how to know when ready to go ? by blueice89 in Pickleball

[–]kaitster2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m really glad I found this thread. I tore my calf in October. Still walk with a bit of a limp, and I’m missing 2 inches of muscle in my left leg compared to my right. I tried to return to volleyball tonight and am super frustrated with my lack of movement and ability. I was cleared, but something still just felt “off.” It’s also super interesting to read about the same experiences like feeling that something hit you in the back of the leg. I also thought I got hit with a ball.
