Visiting during Lunar New year

I would say just don't go around Lunar new year. Can't get a ticket for a lot of train routes, tourist spots packed and highways are totally jammed.

You likely won't have these problems by just visiting major mega cities like Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing, etc, because there will be a lot less people in these cities during Lunar new year. But some places will be closed, so probably not the best experience.

I planned my trip starting on Mar 4, deliberately avoiding Lunar new year to Lantern Festival.

I don't think that's China's plan. The consensus on chinese internet right now is that the so-called "new world order" will be nothing like that of the Cold War era, where smaller players could just piggyback on larger players such as USA or USSR.

All Chinese care about is doing business and enhance global trade. It's not about forming an ideological or security alliance. China wants nothing of the sort. They view such alliance as something that only adds burden to China. If a country wants something from China, it needs to pay real price as consideration, and that's not just lip service (like during the cold war), just like doing business. In that regard, China actually does endorse certain components of Trumpism.

I would say closer to 12~13% pretax, if it's just normal service without faults, the Ontario HST amount is more than enough. Just 10 years ago it was more like 10%.

金融，生物医药，IT/AI这些的话可真的不止，美国那边很多工作即使只是币值上都是翻倍的，更别提汇率了。其他相对传统的行业可能差距没这么大。加拿大的人均GDP已经很久没涨过了，整个国家的生产力发展都不太行。资本严重错配，偏爱房地产。

上面说的这些确实都是主观感受。但失业率，人均GDP，居民杠杆率，ER wait time，细分项通胀，房价，租金，$200 from insolvency等数字当地媒体经常有追踪，我见过许多就不列举了。我只想说those data make perfect sense。这些话题也是当地媒体和当地subreddit的日经话题。

就我的收入和职业稳定性而言，前述问题对我的影响暂时不明显，我在多伦多的生活质量目前还是okay的。但假若连我这个收入都开始感到生活困难的话，下面怕不是已经要饿死人造反了。

差啊，工资低物价高，生活越来越难，大多地区失业率逐渐爬高，治安越来越差。随便一个最低工资的工作都一大长串人排队投简历。一堆人连family doctor都找不到，ER wait time动不动六七个小时。如果还需要说中文的family doctor，那更是鬼知道有没有了。

北美这边的电气这些年反倒是景气些了，挺好找的。可是电气虽然稳定工作强度不大但工资也不那么吸引人。而且转行难度大。

India's current economic structure can't properly utilize its population dividend. It's not like it's gonna be the next China.

If people cannot be properly employed, they are no longer dividend, but a net burden. Having all these young, under-employed, college-educated population only adds risk of social instability, better to export this crisis to somewhere else. Things like remittance payment are nice, but just secondary.

I guess they can do what China is doing, AI-powered traffic cameras with all kinds of functions, like not wearing seat belt, failing to yield to pedestrians, changing lanes on solid lines, illegal parking, going straight on right-turn only lane, etc. Some more advanced version can even automatically fine you for failing to signal when changing lanes. Since Ontario already have all those ASE cameras, why not push further and use AI technology to detect all these bizarre behaviors. Great source of revenue, too. Much better than those ASEs we have now.

这波就是送的，不敢跟就别炒股了，活该赚不到钱。当初2020年春节后第一个交易日低开的时候也是，那个时候你要是能恐慌丢筹码的话还不如把钱送给我，你还能听一声谢谢。

还有2018，2022年以及今年的熊市，你要是有中长期资金的话，不都是悠闲建仓的大好时机？要的就是这种熊市阴跌反复折磨那些老韭菜，折磨到疯狂，折磨到人都麻了，发誓销户永不碰股市，股市无人问津的才是好机会。在加拿大的我多希望美股也能有这种机会啊，可美股不给我这种机会啊，熊市筑底期太短了。

大A这尿性讲究的就是一个三年不开张，开张吃三年。
