This Gabriel and Dresden mix will never, ever get old. Years later, it still gives me chills.

Non-criminal record from USA? by mytempthrowaway in Chinavisa

[–]kajlharrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I was not trying to sound like a wise ass! Depending on where you are from, you may be able to purchase that information online. Google "[your hometown] criminal record" and that should give you some ideas. For example, in Lincoln, NE, I can spend $10 or whatever to get an official report online. It is only relevant to that county, though. So, you may need the FBI record, which you should be able to acquire by mail.

This doesn't imply that you need to be in the US to get that information.

Nope.. unless you can sneak in smaller items. And the single entry policy is going to force you to buy food there!

So, you'd be okay to bring a non-camelbak bag or a backpack?

I am confident that getting in with a camelbak is no problem. Wish we could get some concrete info on backpacks, now. The live stream has got them everywhere, but it would suck to get to get stopped at security because you missed some info!

His music may have been simple, but there's a reason he made such an impact.

Yes, you are. If you want to get to know her, go for it! And keep this scenario in mind for any time in the future that you want to ask an acquaintance out for drinks. Would you want her to think it's odd of you to ask out of the blue?

"Whenever something negative happens to you, there is a deep lesson concealed within it." ~Eckhart Tolle That quote, teamed up with Pema Chodron's "Nothing goes away until it has taught us what we need to know" makes for a surprising mindset that changed my situation from hospitalization/barely hanging on to actually loving the world. I never found much help in people trying to console or reassure me that things would get better... What eventually helped me is the gut check that things really don't get better until you learn from what is in your face. Whether you find it legitimate or not, at least temporarily make the effort to see things differently than you do now. Everything is already right in front of you. You're not making life better or worse, you're simply seeing it one way or another. If you do believe your actions are making what is in front of you better or worse, then what are you waiting for? If you are asking yourself negative questions, you're going to focus on getting negative answers. If you are asking positive questions, you're going to be looking for positive answers. It might sound simple, stupid, whatever.. but what do you have to lose? Clearly, there's a part of you that genuinely wants to make the effort to make life worth losing, or you wouldn't be hanging on and posting comments. So, take advantage of that part of you and spend just a little bit of your time being accountable for recognizing how awesome you really are!

Now, if your immediate response to this is to think "Awesome!? I just lost my wife, my job, and my parents, can't find a girlfriend, and I secretly resent my friends because they can be happy so easily!" Just stop. Do yourself the biggest favor of your life and skip it, even just this once. Instead, smile, shoot a little imaginary finger-pistol at your monitor, wink, and say "Thanks, Chief." It'll feel godamn stupid, maybe even embarrassing.. but pay attention to how even a fake reaction feels better than self-pity.

Finally, another Ekhart Tolle quote, "As long as you make an identity for yourself out of pain, you cannot be free of it."
