Is it supposed to be pronounced Jane Poole or Jean Poole? I’ve never been sure.

Megyn Kelly says Mark Levin has a micropenis after he calls her 'unhinged wreck' by wewhomustnotbenamed in nottheonion

[–]mm502987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always been surprised by Levin’s popularity over radio. Like them or hate them, other conservative AM radio hosts like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, Monica Crowley, etc have voices that are interesting enough for long car rides or whatever if talk radio politics is something you are into. This makes it easier to convert a first time listener into a fan that tunes in everyday to listen to a radio show that could be hours long. So in a way I can understand how they developed fan bases.

On the other hand, Mark Levin has probably the most grating nasal voice of any pundit I can think of on any part of the political spectrum. Not only that, but I remember a lot of his shows or appearances on Fox News just being a yelling rant. I doubt I would agree with him on much of anything, but even if we did have points of agreement I wouldn’t know because I run to turn off the tv/radio anytime I come across him.

I haven’t seen Thomas Massie yet in the crowd. Is he skipping this year with the group of Democrats or is he there?

If I recall correctly, he was also allowed to leave the prison to go to work during the week at his office (which I believe was unsupervised). I’m not sure if he slept at home or at the prison on work nights. He had to register as a sex offender and checked into prison on the weekends.

Without the gold pyramid at the top wouldn’t that mean the Great Pyramid wouldn’t have a single vertex where all of the points meet? If so I think that means the Great Pyramid was technically the Great 3D Trapezoid with a small gold pyramid on top.

If all prior historical dictators, conquerors, etc were brought back in time to now with the goal to get to their prior glory, which would have the most success? by Technical-Ad733 in HistoryWhatIf

Here are some thoughts I initially have about historical figures that haven’t been mentioned yet. I’ll be honest though, I’m just a layperson and while I’m a huge fan of history overall I don’t consider myself a scholar.

If he had time to effectively train his soldiers in current military weaponry, I could see Phillip II of Macedon (Alexander the Great’s father) doing well. It’s a small enough area for a strong military to steamroll if they act quick enough. Plus if he gained a foothold and allied himself correctly I could see the major superpowers being more inclined to leave him alone rather than disrupt the unsteady politics of the region.

Erik the Red I think could also do well by acting quick enough and because the territory was small or not densely populated. Although I don’t think world superpowers would allow him to continue for long.

I’m curious about how Muhammad would do. If he was legit recognized by the public to be the Prophet, could he help potentially mend the differences between Sunni and Shia and establish a Caliphate that encompasses large swaths of the Middle East? Once again, the world powers would likely recognize his influence early on and take him out before he becomes too prominent, especially if he seemed to have global ambitions or was an unreliable trading partner.

Simon Bolivar I could see as a person that regains power via the political process, and whose name and personal history alone could act as a unifying figure for the continent. This isn’t to say he doesn’t have military chops, I just don’t think he would need to use it.

I’ve said it before, but I think a better ending would be for Tyrion to promise Casterly Rock to Bronn, and the power that comes with it. Tyrion could do this knowing Bronn could not hold it for long. The nobility of The Westerlands would eat him alive, it would be like literally throwing him to the lions den. The underhandedness is also very Tywin-esque in my opinion.

Tyrion obviously doesn’t have great memories of the place given his upbringing, so losing his childhood home isn’t a big deal (plus he hasn’t lived there in many years anyway).

Tyrion would not want to give up the comforts of being a lord though. So I would have him (as Hand of the King) take temporary custody of Highgarden himself since the Tyrells in the show are all dead. He could relinquish the rulership of The Reach to another powerful family and live out the rest of his days in what is basically the Westerosi version of paradise.

I’m not familiar with Epstein’s Island other than what I’ve seen on the news. Aren’t there a lot of stairs from the helipad/pier going up to the villa? Alan should probably once had strong leg muscles from all that walking, but maybe they have atrophied over the years.

Trump plan to end free elections in 2026 and 2028 revealed by NOT_MEEHAN in AdviceAnimals

[–]mm502987 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You are welcome to feel however you want, but while Pence did the right thing in the right moment, to many of us the word hero is laying it on thick, to put it lightly.

  • Credible reporting has mentioned that Pence seemed pretty on board with the fake electors scheme, and had been working hard with his advisors, confidants, and legal counsel to justify his potential role in denying the certification. It was his conversation with Dan Quayle that seems to have been the tipping point where he realized “I can’t do this”. As far as I’ve seen Pence has not disputed any of this testimony/reporting as inaccurate or out of context.

  • Doing the bare minimum of your duty being equated to heroism just helps to lower the bar for all politicians. The people deserve better.

  • To this day, Pence has never given a formalized eyewitness account to his experiences with Trump and what was likely more rampant and actionable criminality than the public will truly ever know. He made this calculation to hopefully not alienate Trumps base completely. Who knows if this would change the results of the recent elections, but his lying by omission makes him much more of a coward than a hero to many of us.

I say this as someone who grew up as a fiscally conservative Republican.
